Salud, another iOS 8 app that suffers from annoying bugs

Health Bug

I have to say that I am one of those who thinks that the quantification of our daily activity is something very positive to keep track of our habits, all in order to keep fit and avoid sedentary lifestyle.

As you know, from the iPhone 5s we have a coprocessor that is able to record our movements and quantify them very precisely, in addition, iOS 8 brings its own application that allows us to see the record of these movements, being able to know the number of steps we take, the distance traveled or even the number of floors we climb if we have any of iPhone 6 models. The problem with all this is that the Health application fails and erases our records, losing all meaning of its existence.

After acquiring the iPhone 6 (before it came from an iPhone 5), one of the things that I liked the most is precisely the possibility of quantifying my activity. During all this time I have been amazed by the M8 coprocessor effectiveness, being much more exact than the bracelets that we usually see because when carrying it in the pocket of the pants, there are no false movements that end up being translated as additional steps.

After trying many bracelets, I have seen how something as simple as typing on a computer keyboard can end up adding a few hundred more steps depending on the time we spend in front of the PC, the same with washing dishes, making food, etc. Quantization is correct when it is quantized correctly, otherwise it doesn't make any sense.

Health Bug

The problem is that even though the iPhone accurately quantifies, the Health app included in iOS 8 is nonsense. Not only does its design seem very improvable at the graphics level but also, the recorded data is deleted in previous days. Again, why do I want to quantify my activity if after 15 days my history will be deleted?

This has happened to me several days ago and as you can see, iOS 8 shows me the steps that I have taken since I bought the iPhone 6 but the distance figure has reset it to zero in that time interval. Seeing this, I still have some hope in which my data is still there but due to an implementation failure, the application is unable to read it correctly as it does with the number of steps taken. If they have finally been lost, we will have to add this bug as another of the many that iOS 8 already has and that we hope will be corrected with the arrival of iOS 8.1.

Has your health application data been deleted?

Well, that will be to you, I just happened to look to see if it is true, the only thing I look at are the steps, I have looked at the records and from September 26 at 9:16 am I bought the device until today they all come out the records of all the steps to the minute (it is an iPhone 6 plus) you are absolutely right that iOS 8 is a REAL garbage, with many bugs and little stability but in this simple thing, it works well. All the best.

It is not only me, there are more cases and although isolated, there are. If something goes wrong, even sporadically, it doesn't work right. If you look at it, it shows me the steps well but the distances not, it has erased them all.

I have a 4S and I have not lost data. I use Runastic Me to quantify steps and distances, but the distances appear registered in the Apple Health app, but the graph is at zero.

Everything is fine for me too. Iphone 6.
Could it be that some other app has deleted that data? Type MyFitnessPal, Withings and so on?

Anyway, I have not used any other application ever. It is a bug of iOS 8, there are messages in the Apple support forums with this same problem.

Rookie question, how do you manage to monitor that? Nothing appears to me ... is there a need for another third-party app to start recording data?

If you have an iPhone 5s or higher, these data are recorded by themselves and appear in the health app. You just have to add the graphs to the dashboard of the app and that's it.

The health app doesn't work for me at all .. I have an iPhone 5s and it doesn't register anything from the m7 processor, it doesn't sync with other apps like runtastic or myfitnespal… ..

At first it happened to me that the Myfitnesspal data was lost, however after an update of the App it no longer happens to me. Moreover, the automatic Health records as the steps, I have never lost them. Iphone 5s.

The purpose is to have the glucose index data entered, to control diabetes, and that the update reaches 8.1 and eliminate the blood glucose of health! And they leave a percentage of alcohol in the blood, as if people did it every day !!! I shit on the fucking updates, a month of data to take the ass

I have lost everything, the steps, the distance and the floors as well as the personal data, the medical data, etc etc etc. I have been left as if I were a virgin

I have an iPhone 5s and if it is true, the Glucose is no longer there, which is hard to believe considering that it may be one of the 5 most used things since most of them, I very much doubt that anyone will use it

The exact same thing happens to me, with the update to ios 8.1 the blood glucose has disappeared from the application (and with it all the data entered) 😡

The same thing happened to me, the problem is that we have restored our iPhone from iTunes not from iCloud. In order for the health app data to be saved when we make a backup in iTunes, we must check the "encrypt backup" box on the iTunes summary screen. In theory, the health data that we have lost from the few days that we have been with our new iPhone 6 is stored in the iCloud backup.

I use iPhone 6 8.1.1 It has also been deleted, I only see the steps for today. Another bug that is late in calculating the steps and delay in appearing the board.
When I deactivate the application source that I use is UP from jawbone, the dashboard appears quickly but only with today's data, no previous data.

All of them have also been erased, now I do not register the steps. I am on iOS 8.3 beta 3

  13.   Anil said

It has also happened to me, it does not count the kms walked and it has happened to me after the update, a real shame, it tells me the steps and floors climbed but it does not register the kms walked, I am at 8.2

I'm going through 8.3 and the health failure continues. THE BOARDS SHOW WITHOUT DATA, where to go? Tell me that restoring the iPhone 6 fixes it?

I just accidentally entered the health app to include my partner as an emergency contact, and all my data, date of birth, weight, height are deleted. I record them again, close the App even in the background and go back in, and everything is deleted again. Failure!
