Microsoft publishes ads highlighting the shortcomings of Macs

How everything has changed. I remember several years ago when Apple launched the campaign Mac vs. PC in which there were two actors (one as "Mac" and one as "PC") who talked about what they could and could not do. For example, one of the advertisements talked about the possibility of connecting hardware to a Mac and that they "understood each other" (in fact, it was an actress who played a Japanese camera) without having to install drivers (we remember that these ads are from ago many years). In another ad, Mac could make a video in no time and that video was a perfect girl, the PC one being a man disguised as a woman with a mustache and all. The tables have turned and is now Microsoft who launches ads similar to those of that campaign.

The campaign launched by Microsoft is featured by what they have called the "Bug Chicks." In it, as we have mentioned previously, they talk about the possibilities that Windows 10 offers us and, at the time of writing, it is made up of 4 advertisements. Meet the Bug Chicks

This first ad is the most generic. In it, the two girls appear and a phrase stands out in which one of them says «I don't have a touch screen on my Mac. I'm jealous of that«. You have to be honest and say yes, they are right about that. It would not be of more power touch screen sometimes.

Windows 10 and Inking

The rest of the announcements are already 15s long and each one shows one of the Windows 10 functions. This second announcement could well have been included in the first since it highlights the touch screen which is available on the latest Microsoft operating system.

Windows 10 and Cortana

In the third announcement, Microsoft highlights the feature Hey cortana, something that is very similar to the "Hey Siri" available since iOS 8 (although in previous models it only worked connected to a power outlet). It is also something that is fine, you have to admit it, but you have to say it all: I have Cortana on a laptop and it is not nearly as useful as Siri on iOS. Of course, Cortana sings, [irony mode] something we couldn't work without [/ irony mode]. In any case and if the rumors are correct, this announcement has an expiration date: June 2016. It is expected that OS X 10.12 also includes Siri, so the same thing as with Cortana cannot be done, but in my opinion , many more things could be asked of him and all of them useful (yes, he will surely not sing us when the time comes).

Windows 10 and Hello

In the last announcement we see a function in which you can unlock the computer with the webcam. Having tried similar systems, I don't think it is the safest unlocking method, you just have to think about whether we have a twin brother or, as is my case, an older brother that these types of systems cannot identify. In addition, it must be taken into account that in order to use this function it will be necessary that we be in an environment with good lighting.

Reflection

And what is that reflection you were talking about at the beginning of the article? Well yes, it is true that currently Macs do not have a touch screen, but they can install Microsoft operating systems easily. In this way, of the 4 ads (three if we take into account that the same thing stands out in the first two) we can say that 2 YES that we can enjoy them on Macs with the Apple BootCamp tool. Therefore, if we want to use the "Hello", we can. And if we want to use Cortana, we can.
