How can you improve the YouTube app for iPad?

Youtube

I am sure that on almost all devices (whether Apple or not) there is the application of the most important platform for uploading and watching streaming videos in the world: YouTube. I say in almost all of them because in Apple devices, which we are going to talk about today, they do not have the application installed at the factory (in iOS 7 and other previous versions) but you have to install it through the App Store. Today we will talk about the improvements that can be applied to the YouTube application for iOS devices, that is, my opinion on what functions could make Youtube improve the user experience on iDevices.

What can Youtube do to improve your application on the App Store?

I'm going to talk to you about some aspects that YouTube could improve in its app for iDevices, but let's go by parts:

  • Annotations: It is one of the fundamental functions that everyone uses on their computers, but it is not quite clear why, YouTube does not want to let annotations work on devices with iOS. For those who do not know the annotations, they are a series of buttons that when clicking on them perform different actions such as going to a link, subscribing to a channel, going to another video ... It really is a function that I think could greatly improve the user experience.
  • Subtitle: Who has never seen a YouTube video with subtitles? The same Apple advertisements are often translated through subtitles on the web, but not on Apple devices. Subtitles can really be useful for many things and more for those people who have a disability and cannot hear or understand well what is said in YouTube videos and on the other hand, Google does not allow to configure subtitles from our iPad.
  • Background: When we are in front of the computer, we can minimize the tab of our browser with a video on YouTube and we can continue listening to the video despite doing other tasks such as, for example, treating a photograph in Photoshop, installing a program or playing an online game … Another of the functions that YouTube does not allow is to listen to the videos in the background, that is, if we put a song on YouTube, when leaving the Springboard or when changing the application, the voice of the video will automatically stop being heard. Wouldn't it be useful to be able to listen to the video in the background while we do other things?

You guys, do you miss something in the official YouTube application for iOS?

Apart from those things, I could also add the small screen that appears as on the web in the process bar
