How many points does Movistar finally give away? My case

Surely all of you remember that famous "Drop by Drop" by the guys from Movistar. The little that was made clear from those doses of information was that those with less than 3 months of permanence would have 120.000 points to upgrade to the new iPhone 4. What is left of that? Next I will try to explain what happened to me this morning.

In my case, I had an iPhone 3G with Movistar with which I ended my stay this July, therefore I entered the promotion. So, this Wednesday the rates come out and the 120.000 are not anywhere. On the other hand, in our points area we could see 2 offers that totaled 135.000 (one to update your "smartphone" and another to update your iPhone). Are they really going to give away 135.000 points?

The answer is yes. But this they are only applicable in the Blue Zone. Looking at the table at the top of the post, we are talking about the first column. Even if we already have (or want) an iPhone Flat Rate, these extra points will only be given to us for the first table. To access the prices of the tables entitled "Flat Rate iPhone" only our own points will serve us.

I think that bringing this explanation here can be useful, because I suppose that many of us had thought that the table in which we would have to look at the prices was the one corresponding to the Flat Rate that we had with the previous iPhone. And this change means a VERY big price jump. As an example I give you my case: I had 19.000 points, plus the 135.000 of the Blue Zone, a total of 154.000. So, according to the iPhone Flat Rate table, the price of the 16 Gb would be € 89, however in the Blue Zone the price goes up to € 254, which is the right thing to do (unfortunately).

I hope this information is useful to you given the lack of clarity of Movistar when it comes to explaining its rates.

Updated: One more thing that I forgot to comment: When taking the iPhone through Zona Azul, the table says that the stay extends 18 months. But that's in case you only use your points. If you take advantage of the 135.000 points promotion (as almost everyone will do) the period is extended to 24 months.

    Today I have gone to the English Court, movistar and K-tuin stores, because I regret to inform you that we are in the same of the iPhone 3G. The first units dropper, that is, sold out everywhere (Alicante).

    Points are only given away for the Blue Zone. None of the 135.000 are only for the 3G S (for example mine). To make it simple: if you have an iPhone and your stay is running out (less than 3 months) they give you 135.000 pts. You add them to yours and you go to the first table (the one that says Zona Azul). And period.

    This is my case, and that's how I got my iPhone 4 (BTW: it's expensive but it's sooooo worth it)
