How to follow the WWDC 2015 keynote on OS X, iOS, Windows, Android, Linux and Apple TV.

WWDC-2015

This afternoon at 19:XNUMX p.m. (peninsular time) the keynote will begin where developers will know first-hand all the news that they can make use of in the next version of iOS and OS X. The WWDC is the most important event for the developer community where Apple annually renews the foundations that they have to follow to create applications adapted to the different operating systems of the company. But in addition, it is very likely that Apple will present the new streaming music service and officially launch HomeKit.

The WWDC that begins today June 8 will end on June 12 and will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, where Apple CEO Tim Cook, will share the stage with other senior executives of the company showing the news of the new operating systems (iOS, OS X, Watch OS) as well as the new services and / or devices that will be launched on the market soon.

Although the only way to follow the event is limited to the company's Mac, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Apple TV devices, we can also follow it through other platforms. Below we show you, if you do not have any Apple devices and you want to follow the event, how you can follow it on a Windows or Linux PC or on an Android tablet or Smartphone.

Follow the 2015 keynote on a Mac, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch

For this we will have to use the Safari browser and write the web www.apple.com/live. The Safari version must be at least 6.0.5 on OS X. On an iOS-based device, streaming video requires a minimum of iOS 6 or higher. Third-party browsers available in the App Store are not supported so we can only use Safari to follow the event.

Follow the WWDC 2015 keynote on an Apple TV

First of all we must update device to show all new channels that Apple is progressively introducing among which we will find the specific channel for the event. In order to follow the keynote live, our device must be second or third generation with version 6.2 or higher.

Follow the WWDC 2015 keynote on Windows, Linux and Android

Following the event that Apple will present this afternoon on a device that is not manufactured by Apple is easier than it seems, we just have to download (if we do not have it already installed on our device) the excellent VLC video player app compatible with all platforms. Once we have installed it, we go to the Media menu and select Open Media. Next we go to the Network tab and write the following address: http://p.events-delivery.apple.com.edgesuite.net/15pijbnaefvpoijbaefvpihb06/m3u8/atv_mvp.m3u8

Keep in mind that that address will not be available until the keynote starts. Now we can only hope that Apple does not have the audio problems that many users had where the broadcast of the event slipped the live Chinese translation, which made it impossible to follow it during the first minutes, until the boys Cupertino realized they solved the problem.

Tonight at 12 at night (Spanish time) we will carry out the live recording of a special Podcast about what Apple has shown in the keynote. All those who want to follow us live, we just have to click on the following link, where you can ask any questions you have about it, thank you to the built-in chat that we read while we are talking. If for any reason, it is impossible for you to follow us live, you can use the hashtag #podcastapple and leave there your doubts or questions that we will answer during the recording / live broadcast of the Podcast.
