How to make an iPhone backup

Our smartphones have become an inseparable confidant and companion who knows everything about us. In them we keep a lot of important information and another not so important, but in no case we would like to lose. Contacts, appointments, settings and even games of games in which we have invested a lot of time and in which the last thing we want is to start over. How can it be otherwise, the best way not to lose any data is to make a backup copy.

Making a backup of our iPhone is a very simple task. We have two ways to make a backup: save the copy on our computer and save the copy in iCloud. Next we show you the steps to save our backup both on our computer and in iCloud.

How to make a backup copy of the iPhone on our computer

1. We open iTunes.
2. We click on the device drawing.
3. We click on the device we want to back up.
4. We mark This computer.
5. We click on Make a copy now.

In the last screenshot we can also mark «Open iTunes when connecting the iPhone», so that every time we connect the device, iTunes will open and it will start to make a backup automatically.

Making the backup on our computer we will save everything on our Mac / PC. It will only remain in iCloud, if we have it configured, the agenda, notes, reminders, etc. When recovering the copy, iTunes will dump all the application data and settings to our iPhone, as well as copy the applications.

How to Backup iPhone to iCloud

There are two ways to back up to iCloud, one from your device and one from iTunes. If we want to do it from iTunes, we will follow the previous steps changing step 4, in which we will click on iCloud instead of This computer. To make the copy from the device, we will follow the following steps:

1. Let Settings / iCloud.
2. Let Backup.
3. We activate ICloud copy. We will get a warning message saying that the backup copy will no longer be saved on the computer.
4. We played on OK.
5. We played on Back up now.

By making the backup in iCloud, our iPhone will consult the cloud and download the settings and data from it. Applications will be downloaded again from the App Store, so it is advisable to be connected to a WiFi network and, depending on our connection, be patient.

With our backup done, we can be sure that we will not lose any data if we have to restore our device.
