How to view Live Photos on an older iPhone

live pics

One of the novelties that have come to us with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are the live Photos, a kind of GIFs in which we record the moments before and after taking a photo so that the scene comes to life. Although it is likely that the images will lose quality when taken with the option activated, it is more than likely that both we and our contacts will use them on more than one occasion. But what happens if someone who has an iPhone 6s/Plus sends us a Live Photo and we don't have the latest iPhone model? No problem. Live Photos can be played on any device that has iOS installed 9 or from the Photos application of OS X El Capitan.

Viewing Live Photos on any device with iOS 9 couldn't be easier. The problem, as always, comes if when we see the icon that indicates that it is a Live Photo we do not know its meaning. As you can see in the following image, the icon of these photos are three concentric circles, the one on the outside being a dotted circle.

How to view Live Photos on an older iPhone

  1. We open an image with the Live Photos icon in the upper left.
  2. Once open, we touch and hold about her. We will see that the icon begins to move and the image too.

We can save the images on the reel and see them as we have said before. The problem is that Apple has forgotten a way to mark these images to access them more quickly once they are saved on the reel. The best we can do is create a folder of photos called Live Photos so as not to lose them among the rest of the images. This is something that Apple should have done from the beginning, in the same way that folders are automatically created every time we take a selfie (self-portraits) or a screenshot. Maybe they will add it in the future.
