If a few weeks ago we did the review for him external keyboard for iPad, today we have to do the analysis of his little brother, the i-CaseBoard keyboard for iPad Mini. As on that occasion, the keyboard has come to us courtesy of the ElectroMedia online store.

The i-CaseBoard is a keyboard with external battery that docks iPad Mini very comfortably and quickly via Bluetooth 3.0.

The keyboard has small dimensions (according to the size of the iPad mini) which allows it to be transported comfortably. The only downside, this size makes the keys somewhat complicated to use but you can't have everything. As you can see in the image above, it is a complete Spanish keyboard so it is provided with the always necessary Ñ key. It also has the SHIFT key to be able to use keyboard combinations in the purest MacBook style.

  • On the iPad go to Settings> General> Bluetooth and click on the device «Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad Mini»
  • We enter the key shown by the iPad Mini on the external keyboard
  • And you are ready to go

As an important note, although it is logically designed to be used with an iPad mini, the keyboard is also is compatible with iPhone and the iPod Touch. It can be an interesting use if you use the iPhone to write emails and want to increase the speed in a simple way.

Let's see, on the seller's website they do not indicate that it is an external battery, and you say that it connects by bluetooth (not by lightning). To make matters worse, you say that the duration increases «55 in use and 60 days in standby», which curiously corresponds to the 55 hours in use and 60 days in waiting FOR THE KEYBOARD, indicated by the seller.

My opinion is that you will have it, but you haven't even tried it.

Excuse me, you are right. We wanted to say that the keyboard has an internal battery (for use) and the duration is 55 hours of use and 60 days of standby. It is not an external battery, it was a mistake when publishing the article.

I have the English version of this keyboard (at least, the box and keyboard are identical to the photos, only the text written on the box is different and the i-CaseBoard brand does not appear anywhere). I use it regularly with an iPhone 4 and I have no problem: I did not want an iPhone keyboard because they are tiny and do not solve anything for you; not an iPad one either because I find them too big; On the other hand, this one for iPad Mini is just the right size to carry it comfortably around and is as much as typing as a full keyboard (at the beginning some fingers are put but you get used to it, that's it).

Regarding the Spanish distribution of the keys, it happens as with computer keyboards: the operating system distributes the keys and although it does not have the Ñ written, the key next to the «L» becomes «Ñ» and I have only had I have to put some stickers on it (anyway, I should have waited to buy it to get the Spanish version XD).

Anyway, I just wanted to comment that the keyboard is really comfortable and that it works with any iPhone or iPad and almost certainly with any other device that accepts keyboards via bluetooth.

Hello. This keyboard comes bundled with the »ñ» key ??? I mean, if the keyboard is Spanish. Since they usually serve the most generic, I mean the American. For me it is essential to decide to buy it.

I have bought this keyboard and there is no way to connect it.
I have tried loading it in of and on. With the cable that comes and with another one that I have ...
The orange power light only comes on if I charge it with power. At the moment I disconnect there is no light neither on nor on of and of course the bluetooth never lights or flashes.
Is there something I can do or this keyboard is wrong.
    THANK YOU.
