iOS 10 is found on 63% of supported devices

The latest version of iOS, number 10, has brought us a large number of functions, especially related to the messages application, but not exclusively, since notifications have also received an important update so that we can interact with them in a way more comfortable and simple. Since the release of the final version, last October, Apple has continued to release different updates adding new functions and solving the typical operating problems of some terminals. However, it seems that iOS 10 is taking a slower pace of adoption than its predecessor, iOS 9, according to the latest data that Apple has published on its developer portal.

Apple has updated the section intended to inform about the adoption of iOS 10, showing how as of November 27, the latest version of iOS is found on 63% of supported devices, 7% less than iOS 9 in the same period of time. We do not know if the drop in iPhone sales may have influenced this percentage (many fewer new models are coming to the market) or if users do not see compelling reasons to justify a device update.

Many are the users who wait a few months to update, to avoid having problems with the operation of the new versions, something that usually happens very occasionally but that Apple solves quickly. Despite being an adoption 7 points lower than iOS 9, the latest version of iOS is still impressive if we compare it with the adoption of the different versions of Android on the market, mainly due to device manufacturers.

Last October 27, in the keynote in which Apple presented the new MacBooks, Tim Cook claimed that iOS 10 was at 60% of compatible devices, so in just one month it has risen 3%, the same percentage as iOS 9, which is still found in many devices compatible with iOS 10.

The remaining 8%, until completing 100% of the devices that regularly visit the App Store, method by which they find out the adoption rate, are making use of previous versions. Among these devices we are sure that we find many iPhone 4 and 4s, although the latter was compatible with iOS 9, but its performance left much to be desired, at least in the first versions.
