The iPhone SE will be the first iPhone to be made in India

For just over a year, Apple has been focusing all its efforts on India, a country with more than 1.200 billion inhabitants, country that has become one of their top priorities for all manufacturers now that China has run out of steam in recent years. On many occasions we have informed you about Apple's plans in the country, plans that involve opening three Apple Stores, but previously it has had to make various investments by opening R&D centers in the country in addition to reaching agreements with Foxconn so that will begin assembling devices in the country. As a result of all these negotiations, movements and others, the iPhone SE, the 4-inch iPhone will be manufactured in India, being the first iPhone manufactured in the country.

But this time it will not be Foxconn who is in charge of the production, but the one chosen by Apple has been Wistron, one of Apple's lowest-order manufacturing partners. According to workers related to Wistron's plans in the country, the company is taking all the necessary steps to be able to start assembling devices in the new plant located in Karnataka. According to the leak, April could be the month in which the production of the first iPhone in the country begins. The selected device would be the iPhone SE.

Currently Apple has a very small presence in the country where has only sold 2,5 million devices throughout the past year, a figure that far exceeded those obtained in 2014, but which, even so, continues to be very small for the number of potential clients in the country. The smartphone market is growing by leaps and bounds and Apple is doing everything it can to try not to lose track and be left out. Currently in India, Chinese smartphones, along with Lenovo and Samsung are the current kings of the market.
