Once again the guys at iFixit have once again disassembled a new device. This time it is the turn of the Smart Battery Case, which Apple released last Tuesday without prior leakage. Yesterday we showed you an unboxing of the device in which we can see the curious and aesthetically striking shape that Apple has used to create this battery case to extend the battery life of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.

The Smart Battery Case assures us up to 25 hours of overtime of conversation, 18 hours of internet use through LTE / 4G networks and up to 20 hours of video playback. Thanks to the material used in the manufacture of this device, elastomer, removing and inserting the iPhone 6 / 6s is very simple.

The guys at iFixit show us what many users expected and it is none other than low the silicone layer we find a normal battery and current that cannot be repaired but can be replaced, but due to the hermetic sealing that the Smart Battery Case offers us, any change affects the seal of the case. The 1877 mAh battery is somewhat higher than the one offered by the iPhone 6 se series, 1750 mAh and offers us an extra autonomy of 80%.

Next to the battery we find the NXP 1608A1 charging chip in charge of managing the energy that reaches the battery so that it is charged and show the information related to the duration in the control center of our device. In keeping with tradition, iFixit has once again awarded a score of 2 out of XNUMX for repairability. The battery can be replaced but not the coating on which it is located, hence the note is so low, although the main component of it can be replaced.

It is not mentioned in the article but the case has an antenna that Apple has added to the case, which the other cases do not have, good for Apple, now the case no longer seems so expensive 🙂

An unusual question for the antenna to serve?
