We already know what a novelty presented by Apple goes up, even if it is not really a novelty and it turns out that it has been in the market for years with greater or lesser success. Something does not exist until Apple does "embrace" it in their devices, and once again it has been demonstrated with wireless chargers as we can see in the latest IKEA advertising campaign.
Despite having been on the market for about two years now, IKEA is promoting in true Apple style its accessories with built-in wireless chargers, taking advantage of the announcement of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X with this new feature. Photos and advertising videos showing their lamps, tables and other accessories and that we show you below.
The range of compatible accessories is really interesting both in terms of design and price. The lamp Rigad with LED light, a wireless charging base and a USB connection to charge another device is priced at € 59. Charging base NORDMARKE with three wireless charging stations (similar to the Apple charging base not yet available) it has a price of € 69, and you have a floor lamp with a built-in table where the charging base is, the model VARV, for € 99.
The collaboration between Apple and IKEA has been quite close for a few months. With the announcement that the home automation accessories of the Swedish brand would be compatible with HomeKit, Apple's platform, and with the appearance of IKEA in the last Keynote presentation of iOS 11 supporting Apple's augmented reality, it seems clear that the relationships they are quite good between both brands.
IKEA has been one of the first brands to join the wireless charging trend, after other experts in the field such as Mophie and Belkin. But the barrage of compatible accessories to charge our new iPhone or Apple Watch series 3 is yet to come.. We will keep you informed.
How much nonsense there is behind Apple and everything around it. I have been using wireless charging in my lumias since 2012 with the lumia 920. Then came the 925, 1520 and my current 950 XL, all with wireless charging and using the Nokia FatBoys at home, in black, white and yellow.
But of course, now the IPhone 8 that costs € 900 upwards brings wireless charging and it seems that Apple has discovered America.
