iMovie has been for many years one of the best applications that we have today available on iOS to create videos, with a fairly good result. However, if we want to go one step further, we are forced to resort to Final Cut if we have a Mac or Adobe Premiere if we have a Windows PC.
However, with the latest update of iMovie for iOS, an interesting function is added that allows us to remove the background of videos that have been recorded against a green or blue background, to be able to mix different scenes in the same frame, which will allow us to unleash our creativity from the iPhone or iPad itself.
While it is true that this is the main novelty that we find in iMovie update number 2.2.7, it is not the only one. As usual, Apple groups a large number of new features with every update, new functions that we detail below:
- 80 new soundtracks of different genres such as chill, pop and sentimental have been added, soundtracks that automatically adjust to match the length of the movie.
- We can add images with transparent background to use as logos or watermarks.
- We can also add photos with overlays to create picture-in-picture and split-screen effects.
- Being compatible with ClassKit, students can present their video work to teachers through the Classwork application.
- If we receive a call or open another application while we are making a video, when we return to iMovie, we will find ourselves in the same editing screen where we were, not in the application's home screen.
- The possibility of sharing in iMovie Theather has been eliminated, so we will have to store our movies and trailers in iCloud Photos to be able to view them on other devices.
