Incognito mode could be a reality soon on YouTube

In recent months, due to the different privacy scandals that have been uncovered, by governments or the scandals of large companies, they have turned the privacy of users into a topic more than a priority for many users. Thanks to the incognito mode available in most browsers, we can surf the Internet without leaving any trace on the equipment used.

The theory of incognito mode is fine, but different security researchers claim that from theory to practice there is a world and this navigation method is not as incognito as the developers claim. According to the Android Police, the search giant is testing a new feature called incognito mode in the YouTube application for Android.

As we can in the images of the YouTube version that Android Police has had access to, in the configuration options, specifically our account, you will find a new option called Activate incognito mode. When clicking on this option, the application will show us a message informing us that all the activity we carry out while this mode is activated will not be recorded in the activity of our account.

When disabling incognito mode, all the activity we have done will be removed from the device. In addition, it informs us that this navigation mode may not be as incognitous as we want, as I have commented above, since if we use a Wi-Fi connection in our work center or educational center, our activity can be recorded, at just like it probably happens through our internet connection logs.

Incognito mode is ideal for when we have to make use of a terminal that is not ours to carry out a search from which we do not want any data to be reflected, without having to be forced to erase the history of the device, with the consequent problem that it can pose for the owner of the device.
