All the updates applications are normal, especially at this time that the creators introduce new features. However, not all updates work the same way on all devices, so the developers have a long debugging process to check that everything is correct until the official publication of the update.
Instagram is one of the social networks of the moment. The other day he launched the version 75.0 including voice messages in messages. However, it is not gold everything that shines. Apparently, they modified some parameter and support for the iPhone XR and XS disappeared. That is, the update is not optimized for the new resolutions.
An error that will be corrected soon by Instagram
The iPhone XS has a 5,8-inch screen (with a resolution of 2.436 by 1.125 pixels), while the XS Max has a 6,5-inch screen (2.688 x 1.242 pixels). Finally, the iPhone XR features a 6,1-inch screen with a resolution of 1.792 x 828 pixels. As we see they are different resolutions, with different screens, so the applications have to be optimized for all devices.
Now I know for sure it's not just me:@Instagram for iOS just un-optmized for iPhone XS Max (and presumably XR) screen resolutions in their latest (75.0) update.

In this tweet at the top you can see the Optimization error from the latest Instagram update. On the left you see an image of version 74, while on the right you see the new version 75.0. If you notice in the new version all the elements are seen enlarged, with zoom. This means that the images lose their original quality and, when zoomed in, they sometimes become blurry. Also, all the icons and even the logo look bigger than usual, and it has a weird layout around the screen.
Hopefully they will soon launch a new version to solve this problem that affects the screens of the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR. The solution is found in a tool called "Car Layout », that allows the application to adapt to each of the screens where it starts.
