IOS 12.2 and watchOS 5.2 will bring the ECG of the Apple Watch to Europe

Following the event to present Apple's new subscription services for news, video and games, Apple has released the new iOS 12.2 version for everyone. After weeks in Beta phase available only to developers and registered users in the Public Beta program, the final version comes with interesting news such as HomeKit for compatible televisions.

But silently this new version seems to include a very pleasant surprise for all owners of an Apple Watch Series 4, and that is ECG (electrocardiogram) functionality that was only available to US users appears to be coming to Europe shortly. It seems that we are just waiting for Apple to release the public version of watchOS 5.2 for the activation to be complete.

As you can see in the header image, Apple already allows the configuration of the ECG function in Spain. Having iOS 12.2 on my iPhone and watchOS 5.2 Beta on my Apple Watch Series 4 I have been able to enter the iOS Watch application and within Heart I have been able to activate notifications for irregular rhythm, previously inaccessible, and configure the ECG application to be able to use it. You just have to enter your date of birth, if you suffer from Atrial Fibrillation, and read some explanations in which Apple informs you about what the Apple Watch can do and what not.

Now I only need the second part, and that is that the ECG application appears on my Apple Watch, which has not yet made an appearance. Presumably, just like iOS 12.2 has enabled the settings on the iPhone, watchOS 5.2 finally enables the application on the smartwatch. According to what they have found within the iOS 12.2 code, it seems that this ECG functionality will be unlocked in all countries of the European Union, we do not know if in other countries of Central and South America as well.
