iOS 8 incorporates the internet function in the EU

iOS 8 Roaming EU

Today we talk to you again about the new features coming with iOS 8, which is evolving through its different beta phases to become a new version of iOS that will make it a big change because of what they let us see in the WWDC and in the current betas that the developers test. But in addition to a redesign and functions of those that are almost worth testing, little by little little things are coming that will be useful to users in our day to day. And precisely in this case we refer to the possibility of connecting to data networks in the European Union.

What you have seen in the previous screenshot in this article is a new functionality in iOS 8, which in principle we will find in the configuration menu, right inside the Mobile Networks submenu. In this case, the internet function is incorporated in the EU, which may be alternated with traditional data roaming for other countries that are not part of the European Area. What does this mean?

I understand that in this case Apple intends to facilitate low-cost connections than the European Union forced to apply to companies that are distributed in the countries that are part of it. However, if this function is added in iOS 8, and in the case of iOS 7 it is not, nor in the case of other mobile terminals with a different operating system, what happens in those cases? Not the right fees applied? Or is it rather that Apple has placed it as a decorative button? We will have to wait to know more about the new beta and to make it public to solve this enigma. It is good to be reminded that we can roam cheaper, but if activating that or the other button is indifferent, it seems a bit counterproductive that it is there, right?

Nonsense ... you don't need a button for that. You change country and they charge you for updated roaming, which is much lower and that I think they were even going to remove, period.

Great. With the new regulations, it will be essential to avoid inadvertently connecting to the networks of countries outside the EU. For example, if we travel from France to Italy and we are going to pass through Switzerland, we will avoid connecting roaming to Swiss networks and we will enjoy the new rates for roaming within the EU without worries.
