The fifth anniversary of the iPad has arrived!

On this day five years ago, the iPad was presented, that small big screen that has accompanied our hours of leisure and work since then and that for more than one has become an indispensable tool. Join us on the fifth anniversary of the iPad on a journey through its history, its evolution, its pluses and minuses.

And the iPad arrived

As is known, this was always Steve Jobs' great project, to the point that its design and projection are prior to the iPhone, but it was the technological limitation that prevented the Apple tablet from going to the market before the iPhone. As we were getting used to, Steve was the one who presented the iPad on January 27, 2010 as a symbiosis between the iPhone and the Macbook, more powerful, bigger and more useful than the iPhone. To such an extent it was so and the acceptance of the public that it is the second source of sales in Apple today.

iPad 2 - It's Here to Stay

Launched in March 2011, the first evolution of the iPad is here to stay, in fact it has been with us until almost today. Thinner and better hardware has been the biggest revolution among iPads until the advent of the rugged iPad Air 2. The hardware upgrade opened the doors to many more possibilities, came with a more rounded and slim shape (33% thinner than its predecessor), improved battery and processor and accompanied by the Smart Covers.

In fact, his soul accompanies us almost to this day if we consider that it has identical hardware to the iPad Mini.

Rectifying is wise - iPad Retina, iPad 4 and iPads Mini

The iPad Retina arrived, the third edition of the Apple tablet that promised them happy, we say they promised them because the retina resolution and the increase in hardware seemed to follow the line that Apple had marked for these devices, but something went wrong, these iPads sometimes did not perform as expected and its short duration on the market (Apple released the iPad 4 only six months later) suggested that something strange was happening. In addition, this new iPad came with a new processor and cameras, putting the iPad back in the elite of tablets, where it never really came out.

The inclusion of the new Lightning connectors also got its criticism, invalidating the iPad chargers and cables that had been released only six months earlier.

The inclusion of the new The range of Mini iPads was not without controversy either., Much of the public thought that the iPad lost its reason for being in such a small size (7'9 inches), in addition, the hardware did not accompany it either. Since then the iPad Mini has been varying in hardware halfway between containment and excess, without as much convincing as its companion the iPad Air. Of course, the iPad Mini with the best reception has been the second version, with hardware comparable to that of the iPad Air and that undoubtedly delights those who see the size of the normal version as excessive.

Extreme thinness, exceptional performance - iPad Air 1 and 2

October 2013 arrived, and with it the Air range, the icing on the cake of a device that is becoming increasingly established and without competition. Thinner, lighter and with better performance. At only 7,5mm thick the iPad Air was positioned as the thinnest tablet on the market, with narrower frames and an intensely reduced weight of 469 grams (40% less than the iPad 4). At the same time, the iPad Mini debuted a retina display.

Its arrival undoubtedly also led to the best iPad announcement ever made.

Then we find the second edition of the Air range, 18% thinner than the previous one (no longer possible), with anti-reflective technology and a hardware that delights the most demanding, and of course, the implementation of the famous Touch ID. The definitive tablet, until Apple surprises us again.

And have more years!

I have an ipad mini (my first) and I really feel comfortable with its size since I use it as my big smartphone and I take it anywhere. If I had a full-size iPad I wouldn't have as much portability flexibility. Also playing in the mini is easier because I can play with it in my hands and I don't have to put it on a surface. It is clear that a movie would look much better on an iPad. If I had an iPhone 6+ I would like to have a normal iPad. Otherwise I prefer the iPad mini.

PS: iPad is the best tablet !! undoubtedly
