Despite everything, the iPad is still the best-selling tablet on the market

iPad

For some time now, every time Tim Cook and company present numbers on the iPad they do so to report a further decline in sales. From what it seems, users do not find it as good to renew the apple tablet every year or every two years as we do with the iPhone, but it seems that Apple is not the only company with this problem.

Yesterday, February 2, two analyst firms, IDC and Strategy Analytics, published two reports in which the tablet sales and in both we can see how the tablet of Apple is still the most popular, a position that it achieves by far, despite the fact that the sale of tablets continues to fall and that the price of the iPad is higher than that of the rest of the tablets on the market.

The iPad is still the king of tablets

On January 31, Apple reported that they had sold 19% less of iPad than last year, but that did not prevent them from being the company that sold more tablets in the recent past Christmas season. And that the sales of the iPad have fallen more than those of the tablets of the second classified: Samsung.

Tablet sales according to Strategy Analytics

What we can see in both IDC and Strategy Analytics reports is that the first two positions are occupied by Apple (13.1M) and Samsung (8M) with almost traced results, but things start to change from the third position. While Strategy Analytics says that in third position it would be Lenovo with 4.2M units sold, IDC says that in third position it would be Amazon with 5.2M units.

An interesting piece of information from the IDC study is that the iPad Pro has only achieved 10% of sales of the apple tablet. What could this be due to? Well, I am not an analyst, but we are talking about a tablet whose smallest and cheapest model has a price of € 679, and that with only 32GB of storage and without being 4G. If we add to this that we can buy a 2GB iPad Air 32 for € 429 or a 128GB one for € 539, I think we could say "white and in the bottle."

In any case, what we can be clear from the information provided by IDC and Strategy Analytics is that the iPad is still the king of tablets and it seems that it will continue to be so for many years.

What do you mean "in spite of everything"? Despite its exaggerated price, that Apple leaves it obsolete 4 or 5 years after buying it, that it is incompatible with other systems, that it runs out of battery in a few hours, etc?

Man, that a tablet lasts 4-5 years I think it is quite a lot, especially speaking in technological terms and knowing how fast it advances. I sold my ipad 2 after getting 4 years of juice out of it, and I know that if you stopped using things that require a higher ios version, I could have gotten 2-3 more years out of it for sure.
I do not see any tablet on the market that after 4 years can continue to install last generation programs or games without any problem and I say none. In all brands they end up screening old versions so that you can install the newest

Price, it is true that the ipad is not cheap, but after having tried other brands (samsung and sony in my case) and being able to compare them, the difference in price compensates me and that is why I continue with ipad
But just like this happens to me, it is normal that the opposite happens to another and the price difference does not compensate him, it all depends on the type of use to which it is going to be destined.

I don't know how long the ipad lasts for you, but I usually charge it a couple of times a week (normal use) and if my nephews use it to watch movies or series, it can take me all day quietly

      All the best
