The same thing always happens. When Apple releases a new beta version of its operating systems, programming experts gut these updates looking for differences with previous versions to find what's new before anyone else.
In this case It seems that they have had access to some previous phase of iOS 14, and have found some significant news regarding the control of mice and keyboards with trackpads on iPads. Let's see what they have discovered.
Programming technicians 9to5Mac have had access to a previous version of iOS 14 and studying its code they have found some important news. In iPadOS 14 there will be new support for mice. There will be improved control of the same and new cursors.
It seems that it will be a control similar to the one that macOS has. One difference from Macs is that the pointer will probably disappear after a few seconds of inactivity, to return control to the touch screen. If the mouse or trackpad is touched again, it will appear again.
There will be different graphical pointer icons depending on the work the cursor is doing, such as exchanging the arrowhead for a hand, when the function requires it.
Support for two new smart keyboards has also been discovered in the build. Two new identifiers of two new keyboard models have been seen. If to this we add the gestures found with two fingers, it is easy to think that at least one of these keyboards will incorporate a trackpad similar to that of a laptop, with some key function. That means it will have some depressed area like a haptic feedback key.
Obviously there is no information on the design and size of these two new keyboards, but looking at the functions they are capable of performing, they will surely be standard laptop keyboards, with a keyboard on the top and a trackpad on the bottom.
