So much so that according to famous KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is having production problems that will make the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in gloss black color arrive more slowly than the rest.
30-40% of glossy black iPhone 7 does not pass Apple quality controls
According to the KGI analyst, iPhone 7s in glossy black have a much more difficult time passing Apple's quality controls and 30-40% have to go through the anodizing and polishing process again which Apple talks about on its official website. This would mean that while 10 iPhone 7s in matte black are ready for shipment, only 6-7 iPhones 7 in glossy black could be prepared.
Another reason that Kuo gives for the low availability of the Jet Black models is that the iPhone 7 has exceeded all expectations, something to which it also could have contributed to the problem of the Galaxy Note 7 with its batteries faulty.
If you will allow me a tip, I would recommend not to be blinded by the brightness of the new color and to buy the model in matte black. It is something that I have personally done: 4 days after reserving the iPhone 7 Plus in glossy black, I regretted reading the comments of people who had already tried it (our colleague Pablo Ortega among others), I canceled it, I ordered the same model in matte black and, even reserving it 4 days later, it still gave me a much shorter delivery time. If you listen to me, you can have your iPhone 7 sooner and enjoy it without so many worries.
Well, if those who arrive are 60-70% than if they pass the control ... 36 hours the jet black has lasted me. I have not dedicated myself to doing resistance tests, I just carried it in my pocket and I tried a case with an additional battery that I have.
The problem is not that they scratch, it is that they are seen a lot. The same case, on a gold iPhone 6 has left marks, which once I know where they are thanks to the 7, I have located. They are minimal. In both 6s, silver and pink respectively, there are no marks.
But in jet black they sing so much that the first time, and if you are a maniac about taking care of your devices, as I am, better choose another color.
