The iPhone 7 Plus could have 3GB of RAM

iPhone 7 with Smart Connector

A few hours ago we published which may be the "leak", always in quotes, the most important on the iPhone 7 that has occurred to date. In her, OnLeaks y switch published some schematics of the iPhone 7 and the 7 iPhone Plus in which we saw several interesting things, such as a new sensor on the front, larger cameras, in the case of the Plus model it would be dual, and a Smart Connector that would only be present on the iPhone 7 Plus.

Ming-Chi Kuo, the most prestigious analyst in the Apple world, wanted to join the party and has published a new analysis that talks about RAM memory that will include one of the devices that, if there are no surprises, will be presented in September. The KGI analyst believes Apple will include 3GB of RAM on the iPhone 7 Plus and the reason would be to compensate for the extra demand on image processing resources that the advanced camera that the next 5.5-inch iPhone is expected to have.

iPhone 7 Plus: dual camera, more RAM and Smart Connector

The point is that the analyst has reversed and he denies what he said in a report presented months ago in which he claimed that Apple would launch three iPhone models this year, with permission from the iPhone SE: an iPhone 7, an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone 7 Pro, with the same differences between the "normal" models and more advanced feature on the Pro model.

On the other hand, Kuo says that the iPhone 7 Plus will have optical zoom but, if I'm not mistaken, either he or another analyst had already assured this in previous years and we did not see it. What he dares not talk about is how much the next 5.5-inch iPhone will cost. If I have to act as an analyst, on the one hand I think there will be a new price increase this year but, on the other hand, I think of the 16GB and 64GB strategy in which we are "invited" to buy the most expensive model and I appreciate the possibility that they maintain the price, something that would make us buy more iPhone 7 Plus and Apple would make more money, something positive that they could talk to investors about.

In any case, both Kuo's information and this afternoon's leak will remain a dead letter if they are not confirmed in September.
