The iPhone SE beats them all in a satisfaction survey

The iPhone SE is not the most powerful and performing smartphone in the smartphone market, not even within the Apple ecosystem however, the iPhone SE has surpassed all as the smartphone that most satisfies its users.

Based on the US Customer Satisfaction Index for May 2017, iPhone SE has achieved a score of 87 out of 100 which places it at number one as far as satisfied customers are concerned, ahead of the Galaxy S6 Edge + and even the iPhone 7 Plus.

iPhone SE: less is more

This is the great conclusion we can reach after observing the data from the latest US customer satisfaction survey for the month of May 2017, since the iPhone SE, with a smaller screen, and with less power and performance that some of its great rivals, including the iPhone 7 Plus itself, has managed to position itself as the smartphone that generates the greatest satisfaction among its owners, thus confirming that the company was right to launch this smartphone model at a considerably lower cost than the firm's flagships, and that it will probably be right again if, as they point out many rumors, decides to release an improved version of the iPhone SE.

But returning to the topic at hand, although it is not the most recent smartphone that Apple has launched, iPhone SE ranks as the number one smartphone in the US Customer Satisfaction Index for the month of May of this year in which we are. The data reflected by this study gives the iPhone SE a 87 percent satisfaction rate among owners, just one point ahead of its most immediate rivals in this area, the iPhone 7 Plus and the Galaxy S6 Edge +, both with a satisfaction rate of 86 percent.

The results of this study come from data that has been collected from a total of 36.194 customer interviews carried out during the twelve months that ended in April 2017. Later, all these data collected were processed following the ACSI or "cause-and-effect econometric" method, through which a rating is assigned to the comments and responses of users based on a general score whose top is one hundred points equivalent to one hundred percent.

This is the top of the most satisfactory smartphones

As we have already pointed out, the iPhone SE tops the list of smartphones that cause the highest degree of satisfaction in its owners with 87 percent, while the most recent, powerful and expensive iPhone 7 Plus lags behind, although with only one point difference and an 86 percent customer satisfaction score, the same as a smartphone that already has a little longer to live, the Galaxy S6 Edge + from the South Korean company and Apple's great rival, Samsung.

Interestingly, the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 7 models received scores of 83 points out of a hundred, while the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6s were left with an index of eighty out of a hundred, the same as the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Finally, the iPhone 6 received 79 out of every hundred points. Usually, The list of most satisfying smartphones for US customers is emphatically dominated by Apple and Samsung. This is how the first 17 positions remain:

  1. iPhone SE - 87 out of 100
  2. Galaxy S6 Edge + - 86 out of 100
  3. iPhone 7 Plus - 86 out of 100
  4. Galaxy S6 Edge - 85 out of 100
  5. Galaxy S7 - 84 out of 100
  6. Galaxy S7 Edge - 84 out of 100
  7. iPhone 6 Plus - 83 out of 100
  8. iPhone 6s Plus - 83 out of 100
  9. iPhone 7 - 83 out of 100
  10. Galaxy Note 5 - 82 out of 100
  11. Galaxy Note 4 - 81 out of 100
  12. Galaxy S5 - 80 out of 100
  13. iPhone 5 - 80 out of 100
  14. iPhone 5s - 80 out of 100
  15. iPhone 6s - 80 out of 100
  16. Galaxy S6 - 79 out of 100
  17. iPhone 6 - 79 out of 100

Although it may be curious to see the iPhone SE at the top of this list, we must not lose sight of that the degree of satisfaction of a user depends more on the capacity offered by the terminal to satisfy their expectations and their specific needs, than the performance in absolute terms that it can offer.
