iTunes 11.1 does not allow installing Custom Firmwares

iTunes 11.1 Custom Firmware

Whenever a new version of iTunes we talk about jailbreak and compatibilityFor example, with the presentation of iTunes 11 we made a specific post to explain that iTunes 11 does not present any problem with the jailbreak, the posts are almost always the same, but itunes 11.1 It will not be the same, yes that has problems with the jailbreak.

iH8sn0w has explained on twitter that the new version of iTunes does not allow to install custom firmwares and therefore you lose the option of using a firmware with your own SHSH like those created by the iFaith program for iPhone 4 and earlier.

Before you simply entered the SHSH into the firmware and when iTunes checked (connecting with Apple's TSS server) it accepted them as correct, that is, you got cheat iTunes with the last check you entered to prevent you from being able to install older firmwares.

As most of you know Apple checks online that your baseband is the latest to let you update, also nyou need to sign the software online with your server, and iTunes could be fooled by including the latest baseband and telling it to look for the SHSHs to sign on the Cydia server instead of the Apple server, but This is over...

In this new version Apple connects to its server and recalculates a part of each img3 instead of using the ones that are already included in the BuildManifes.plist of the firmware itself, with which it will detect that the custom firmwares are not original and it won't let you install them. Quite a problem.

The only solution could be create a new tool that allows you to install custom firmwares, because through iTunes it will be impossible from now on. The future of custom firmwares is very dark, as is the future of downgrades that Apple closed a long time ago with its new verifications.

With redsnow you can downgrade without using iTunes, right?

I've been doing jailbreaks since IOS 5, not only to my phones, but also to any friend or family member who really took advantage of it and at no time did I need to use custom firmwares. On some occasions with the phones that were not mine (with mine I have never done it), I have saved their personalized SHSH in TinyUmbrella, in case they put their finger where they should not. Doing things with caution is an option that you will never use.

With redsn0w it is done without problems. Confirmed

Thats weird! Because I have uploaded and downloaded the Apple TV2 as I pleased, with custom firmware 5.2 SP, and using redsn0w for the dfu mode, iTunes 11.1. Without any problem or error.

I was affected by this inconvenience.
Apparently it only affects the iphone 4, any other device that allows customs has no problem.
On the iPhone 4, if you try to install a custom, the iTunes will return error 11, also if you happen to update an iPhone 4 that has jailbreak (ahem: 6.1.2) to ios7, when starting the restoration it will return error 6 and you will have than restore it using DFU.
And for those who believe that using redsn0w will have solved the problem, I regret to say that it is not. If you try to restore with a custom, the restore will fail when trying to upload the iBEC, and redsn0w will warn that it cannot find the iphone in recovery mode. If, on the other hand, a restore is attempted with an original IPWS by checking the option not to update the baseband. After the redsn0w writes the iBEC, we will get a message that the APTikect does not correspond to the iphone. I have not attempted a debaseband upgrade for reasons we all know.

At the moment the only solution I have is to use an earlier version in iTunes on another computer.

    good evening:

but how to do with redsn0w? The redsn0w serves to make the custom and put in dfu but then you have to use itunes to put the custom. It is not like this

    All the best

I have problems when entering a custom firm…. I have the shsh of ios 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 saved with tiny humbrela and when I create the custom firm it goes well, the moment of putting it with itunes is impossible ... I tried itunes 10.7 11.0 11.0.4 and the same gives me the message « The iPhone could not be restored because the requested version is not compatible. Could it be that they managed to not be able to put more custom firms with iTunes whatever the version? Do you know any version of itunes with which it has been downgraded? I am on ios 7 with iphone 4, the truth is I want to remove it because it affected my performance a lot I think they should not have made the 4 compatible with iOS 7

I AM ONE OF THE AFFECTED!… I FOUND AN IPHONE 5 AND IT HAS BLOCKED BY ICLOUD, I WANT TO DOWNLOAD TO IOS 6.1.3 OR 6.0.4 BUT DAMN ITUNES WILL NOT LEAVE ME AND WILL NOT LEAVE ME… iReb, Redsn0w and all those applications are useless since they don't have support for iPhone 5… I CAN'T DO ANYTHING! I have spent days reading and there is nothing with which I can go down to 6.1.3 or 6.0.4…. If there is someone who knows of any program please tell me, greetings.
