Wi-Fi LED lights + iOS App = iParty

The light kit iGLO LED kit It consists of a 5 meter long strip made with a total of 120 RGB LEDs whose colors can be controlled through an application designed for the iPhone or iPad. For the system to work correctly, the iPhone and the light kit must be within the same local network and, from there, the imagination plays to the user's liking as you can see in the following video:

The price of the set is $ 299 (about 213 euros) and you can buy it directly from the manufacturer's website.

Oddly enough, I think one is going to fall for my xd I was looking like crazy for an LED light for under my white half-opaque glass with color combinations and you have just made my dream come true.

As an idea I see it very well but there are alternatives like this link for much less and with a remote control on eBay, below I put some examples of how it has been for me
    What do you think?

@XaviX, I have a kit very similar to yours (I control something more complete) for the iMac and that solution you propose is much cheaper than the one in the news, although of course, we lose the interactivity with the iPhone and the many options that those offer strips. That the price difference is worth it is already personal. All the best!

  5.   XaviX said

@Nacho, of course there will be more complete than mine, I have seen on eBay much more expensive and surely of better quality. But as you well say interactivity with the iPhone connected to a WiFi network not all controls do.

Keep in mind that the one with the news is 5 meters, mine is only 1 meter, so I may point it for a possible screen, but this time in the dining room.

    Greetings.

Don't think that my remote is very different from yours, it just adds a few more colors and some effects, but the RGB controller is the same. The truth is that the kit works great and it cost me much cheaper than the Philips Ambilight v2 (although it does not give the same light, obviously). By the way XaviX, wouldn't you discover this kit from a thread in the trolate called AmbiEOL? 😀

  7.   Antonio Sánchez Bayona said

Do you recommend a good quality 5m strip regardless of the price? That Philips Ambilight v2 that you mention is good? is that I am looking for 2 strips of 5m.

No, since June I was looking to buy an iMac, being a little handyman I tried to search eBay for white LEDs to solder one by one until I discovered that wonder that would take many hours of soldering.
I always look for the alternative on eBay in this type of thing made in China, for the same effect, I imagine a better brand and in an electronics store the price was perfectly above € 70-80.

But the Wi-FI + iOS LED will surely appear tomorrow in the curiosities section at the end of the news. 🙂

Antonio, I have added you but you do not accept !!

To control the LEDs via Wifi you have the option Arduino + ethernet shield
in addition to being able to do the Ambilight with any screen

If you're in a not good position and have no cash to get out from that point, you would have to take the loan. Because that will help you definitely. I get financial loan every time I need and feel myself good because of that.
