During the last conference for developers we saw how the guys from Cupertino continue to bet on augmented reality and made several presentations. One of the most striking was that of LEGO Playgounds, a game that allows us to place show characters in a real environment in addition to allowing us to interact with the creations
The application offers us different playgrounds to explore, the first being LEGO Ninjago. Using selected physical sets from Ninjago Dragon Hunters, players can interact with these sets to see special effects, animations and characters that come to life thanks to augmented reality. Within LEGO Ninjago we have at our disposal the Dieselnaut set and the Dragon's Pit.
In the description of the game, we can read:
Today's children are mastering the art of finding new moments and forms of play, and LEGO Playgrounds will provide them with a "live" opportunity to test and learn directly with them. It is truly a unique way to interact with them in a fun and experimental way and to bring them closer to our innovation process.
Sharing the latest play experiences is great fun for kids and very helpful to our LEGO design and development teams, who can take your feedback and use it to make launch experiences even better and more engaging.
This game / app It is compatible from iPhone 6s onwards and iPad Pro from 9,7 onwards, in addition to the 5th generation iPad. Unfortunately, the iPad Air 2 is not considered among the compatible devices, despite being powerful enough to at least allow us to partially enjoy the augmented reality that LEGO offers us through the ARKit platform.
LEGO AR Playgrounds is available to download for free, is in Spanish and requires iOS 12 or later.
