LG claims that it has not copied the notch of the iPhone X in the LG G7

Many are Android manufacturers who have embraced with open arms and without any justification, the notch that Apple introduced in the iPhone X, a notch that has become a trend in the Android world, where the only manufacturer that at the moment has not chosen to implement it has been the Korean firm Samsung.

LG has just officially presented its new flagship, the LG G7, a smartphone that initially it shouldn't have hit the market until next year if we heeded the statements made by the head of LG at the last CES held at the beginning of the year in Las Vegas.

The head of LG's mobile division, Jeong-hwan, made a statement to The Korea Times, shortly after officially presenting LG's new flagship, a statement in which he affirmed that "They had the notch design planned before Apple". The new LG terminal follows the same trend as the rest of Android manufacturers throughout this year, but with a large number of functions that we cannot find in other manufacturers.

LG is the only company that has bothered to talk about the adoption of the notch in their new models, something that the rest of the market manufacturers have not done so far. If we take into account that Apple was not really the first manufacturer to launch a terminal with notch, but it was the Essential Phone, Andy Rubin's company, we could say that really who they are copying is this terminal, not the iPhone X.

Watching the market trend, Google has already added support for the notch that manufacturers have begun to adopt, but it will not be until Android P reaches the market, when they will be able to do it natively, without resorting to the customization layers that manufacturers add to be able to avoid the notch, located right where the time is displayed on Android.
