LG presents the PJ9, a Bluetooth speaker capable of levitation

LG PJ9 levitating

CES 2017 will open its doors next week, but it should come as no surprise that many brands allow us to take a look at some of their products several days before. Is what he has done LG, company that last night published a press release announcing the launch of a new Bluetooth speaker that "rocks in the air", that is, it levitates reminding us in some way of the Hoverboard (in fact LG says that «hovers in midair) of "Back to the Future."

LG's new speaker, which has been called PJ9, It is able to float in the air thanks to the Levitation Station, that is, the part on which we will put the speaker itself. According to LG, the strong electromagnets that are present in the Levitation Station are what allow the PJ9 speaker to be floating about two fingers above the levitation station, which also reminds us of the Hoverboards that have been created outside of the aforementioned film because it needs a special surface on which to float.

"The LG PJ9 achieves the wonderful visual effect of floating in the air"

What we have to be very clear from the beginning is that the effect of levitation will be only visual, that is, levitation apart, what the PJ9 offers us is nothing more than a 360º omnidirectional speaker which will allow you to include «Deep bass, level midrange, and crisp highs«. But if we stay with the statement that this speaker is the same as others, we would not be telling the whole truth.

The LG PJ9 has a really cool feature: the Levitation Station is also an induction charging station but, unlike other similar systems such as the Apple Watch or some smartphones, we will not have to do anything to charge this speaker; When the charging station detects that the speaker's battery is running low, it will automatically cause the PJ9 to stop levitation and hover over the Levitation Station to begin charging. And best of all, all this will be done without the music stopping.

The information about the PJ9 would not be complete if we did not say that it will have IPX7 certification, which means that we can submerge it to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes and it should come out safe and sound. Logically, putting a speaker in the water does not seem the best we can do with it, but its resistance to water will allow us to take the PJ9 out in summer and listen to music near a pool, for example.

At this time, LG has not said anything about how much its PJ9 will cost or when we can buy it, although more details expected from next week, when CES 2017 officially opens its doors. Will you buy it?
