Litra Glow, premium lighting for your streaming for little money

We tested Logitech's new Litra Glow lighting, a portable, affordable device with superior features to which you can imagine. The perfect device for your streamings.

Logitech fully enters the world of streaming through its first lighting device for streaming, a segment with very defined protagonists, so it does not have an easy task. For this, it has launched Litra Glow, a lighting device that breaks with the schemes of what we had until now. Small, light, portable and at a very affordable price, wants to differentiate itself from other much more expensive systems designed not to move, but in addition to offering something different, it must work well, and that is what we show you in this analysis.

Features

Litra Glow is a device designed to offer the best possible lighting for your streaming, YouTube videos or video conferences. For this they have chosen the TrueSoft technology that achieves a more natural skin tone, a frameless design that avoids shadows and a security certification that few offer, guaranteeing that your device is safe to use for up to twelve hours without photobiological risk.

  • Weight 177gr (with foot included)
  • Color Temperature Range: 2700K – 6500K (Kelvin) (5 Level Physical Controls)
  • output max. 250 Lumens Optimized for Desktop Streaming (5 Level Physical Controls)
  • 1/4 thread compatible with tripods and mounting systems
  • USB-C connection
  • 1,5 meter USB-A to USB-C cable
  • Control software built into Logitech G Hub (download link) compatible with Windows and macOS

Portability is one of the main features of this Logitech device. Very light, removable and designed to be placed on any monitor thanks to its adjustable support, or on a tripod thanks to the standard 1/4 thread, this Litra Glow can be taken anywhere. For its operation we must connect the USB-C to USB-A cable to the USB port of our computer, or if we do not have one nearby, to an external battery. If your computer does not have USB-A, you can use your own USB-C to USB-C cable without problems.

Physical or app controls

To squeeze 100% of its possibilities we must connect it to a computer and use the Logitech G hub software, but if we do not have a computer or we are going to use it on one without the software installed, there is no problem thanks to the integrated physical controls. So there is no problem if you want to use it with your iPhone or iPad, for which there is no software, you will have to connect it to an external battery and use the physical controls of brightness and temperature to be able to do it to your liking. The control with these buttons is not as fine as with the software, but 5 levels of brightness and temperature are included which should be sufficient for most occasions.

Logitech G Hub software is available for Windows and macOS, and its controls are simple and intuitive. You can choose manual control or use the predefined profiles offered by the application, you can also create your own profiles and save them for reuse without having to set it up again. The application creates an icon for the macOS menu bar, which when pressed opens it directly. I like more the option offered by elgato, which from the menu bar itself allows us to control its lights. On many occasions when you stream, your computer screen is full of windows with different applications, and one more window to control this Litra Glow may not fit. A point of improvement that Logitech surely takes note of. I also miss that it is integrated into the Stream Deck and being able to control it through its configurable buttons.

amazing lighting

When we were introduced to the Litra Glow my main question was how well it would illuminate such a small device. Okay, the doubts dissipate soon because the result is very good. As you can see in the video, I usually use two much more expensive lights (each costs twice as much as this Litra Glow), but I usually use them at 15% intensity. Litra Glow has a lot less luminosity, but it would be more than enough for my streams. For other uses like lighting products in reviews they probably wouldn't do enough, but for my streams they would. Maybe I'd use two for more even lighting, and they cost the same as just one of the elgato KeyLight Airs I use. You can check for yourself the results of the comparison in the video that heads the article.

Editor's opinion

Logitech has launched a product designed to illuminate streaming, videos and video conferencing, and it has done so with uses that other manufacturers have not contemplated. Litra Glow is a portable device, designed to be used anywhere, and despite its small size it offers truly amazing lighting results. And all this also does with the affordable price of €69. You already have it available on Amazon (link)
