Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has started the inaugural presentation of the WWDC with iOS 12 and the clear intention for the developer conference to focus on software.
One of the highlights, of course, is augmented reality (AR) and all the facilities that Apple is putting in the hands of developers to get the most out of it.
But not everything is for developers, Apple has just taught us "Measure" or "Measure". The name does not give rise to doubts, it is an application to measure the physical world that surrounds us.
ARKit and Augmented Reality Enhancements Promise Simple and Accurate Measurements. The app is as simple as point and click where you want to start measuring and where you want to end.
With a briefcase, which all Apple fans would like, Craig Federighi teaches us that the app does not stop at a single measurement. The app allows you to add measurements, in all directions. We can take measurements on all three axes and, for example, do like Craig and confirm that our suitcase meets the measurements only with our iPhone.
But the app goes further. When focusing on a defined rectangle, such as the frame you use in your presentation, Measure takes all the measurements and returns the information in a very visual and simple way.
Many are the apps that came out together with ARKit that promised to measure, but the conditions meant that they were never completely reliable. Measure seems to promise as much precision as the level or compass that we already have on our iPhone.
