All the social media they are sometimes beneficial tools, but harmful if they are not used properly. The youngest in the house begin to use new technologies earlier and earlier and that makes companies take steps to ensure privacy and security of children, but also establishing safety tools for parents. On this basis, Facebook has announced through a press release Messenger Kids, a chat and video tool so that the little ones can communicate with those users that parents want, only available in the United States at the moment.
Facebook and safety for the little ones: Messenger Kids
To give children and parents fun, and a safer solution, we built Messenger Kids, a standalone application for children's tablets or smartphones, but it can be controlled from a parent's Facebook account.
Messenger Kids is a tool that can be installed on smartphones and tablets with which the little ones (under 13 years old) can interact with users as if it were Facebook Messenger. The child will not have to create a Facebook profile, but the parent will log in and create a profile tiny to his son. Once done, the father, from his account, will give access to communicate to certain users with his son.
This tool allows the little ones to have access to new technologies in a safe way. In addition, Facebook ensures that Messenger Kids has guidelines from the PTA association, expert in child development and safety.
The functionalities within Messenger Kids are almost the same as those that we can find on the original Facebook Messenger: stickers, video calls, masks, photographs ... with the purpose that the child can communicate in this type of media with total security. And also controlled everything from any device by their parents.
