Microsoft says the Sway app will stop working before the end of the year

The Microsoft applications incubator, in addition to the company itself, offers us a wide range of applications available in the App Store, applications of all kinds and for all tastes, although many of them have not had the recognition they could deserve. Microsoft Sway is one of them, one of the applications that before the end of the year will stop working.

The Redmond-based company has published on its blog, that as of December 17, 2018, the application will no longer allow presentations, newsletters and personal articles to be shared with other users. Two months before that date, the application will be permanently withdrawn from the App Store. Fortunately all the content that users have created so far, will continue to be available.

As expected, especially coming from Microsoft, all the content that users create or have created until next December 17, will continue to have it at your disposal through the web sway.office.com. Microsoft has taken advantage of the statement to thank the trust that all users have had in using this application. Microsoft has begun to send notifications to all users who today have the application installed on their terminals so that they are not caught by surprise that it stops working at the end of the year.

If you use this application, you must take into account the following calendar:

  • October 19. The application will be removed from the Apple application store, so you will no longer be able to download it again.
  • December 17. The application will stop working. All users who try to use the application will be redirected directly to the Sway online service, available through the website sway.office.com
  • From August to December. Users of this application will receive notifications reminding them that at the end of this year it will stop working and they will have to go to the online service to continue using this service.
