Misfit presents Shine 2, a very fine sports bracelet

It is well known that the Apple Watch is the most successful wearable device on the market, so much so that it is getting into trouble to the famous Swiss watches, but that does not mean that there are no users looking for something simpler. For these users, one of the most interesting companies in sports bracelets, Misfit has released Shine 2.

The Shine 2 will be familiar to anyone who knew the original version. It is made with the same circular design, but in a thinner body (8mm), and has left the 12 notification lights white to display more than 16 million colors, allowing you to be visible even when it hits direct sunlight.

The lights also show our daily progress in our sports activity, and not so sports, since it serves to monitor sleep. Like the Apple Watch, we can configure the Shine 2 to vibrate to motivate us to do some sports activity. As you can see in the previous video, its small size allows us to even put it on our feet to measure our cycling activity, something that I would not even consider doing with the Apple Watch. We can also configure it to vibrate to wake us up.

But we start with what is really important. The Shine 2 does not run on batteries; It works with disposable batteries. It is true that it is an extra expense, but we will not need to change them until after 6 months, which means that we will have to pay about € 4 a year for button batteries. Who would not sign to spend € 4 a year for the Apple Watch to last 6 months until the battery ran out?

Another important point is that the Shine 2 also serves to receive notifications. The lights will help us to know if we have received an SMS or a call, although with the obvious problem of not knowing who is trying to communicate with us, something that, honestly, I do not know if it is good or bad. For example, if we are running and we receive a notification, we will not be able to know if it is something important or something that we can leave parked until we finish our physical activity.

A sports bracelet has to be resistant and the Shite 2 is Waterproof 50m. This means that we can swim with it, but not dive. At this point it is the same as the Apple Watch, although Apple tells us that its watch is only splash resistant. Anyway, in their website They do not mention the type of IPxx certification it has, something that we do see on the Apple Watch page (IPx7).

This second generation of Shine is compatible with the Misfit Link application, an application that will help us perform different actions on our iPhone (or Android) such as controlling music or taking a selfie, and also controlling some things on the watch such as, logically, starting or stop our sporting activity.

The Misfit Shine 2 bracelet is currently available in a few countries, such as the United States, France or Germany, for a price of $ 99. Misfit ensures that it will reach other stores in sometime in november.

I gave my girlfriend the misfit 1 several months ago and the truth is that she is very happy. I see key compared to other bracelets 2 things.
    1. That you report daily progress, that is what motivates you to leave home to meet the goal. If to see the progress you had to synchronize it every time, most of the time it would not be done.
    2. That it does not have to be recharged every day. I've seen other people take it off daily to charge at night, and the day they forgot to put it back on, it's been a week or 2 on the nightstand.

This second version looks very good, let's see when it comes out in Spain
