Facebook Moments already works in Spain, not as well as it should

We have been talking to you about Moments for a long time, an application with which Facebook would want us to share all our photographs with our Facebook friends, at least if the photographs in which they appeared. Because Who has not been to a social event and has regretted not having any photographs even though they remember posing in many? And is that today almost everyone has a camera in our pocket, the camera of iOS devices has always been quite good, that leads us to have the trigger quite easy when it comes to immortalizing moments. Facebook wanted to make this task as easy as possible with Facebook Moments.

Rumors began recently about its release, but finally May 25 arrived to all users in Spain. The application is available for free in the App Store, how could it be otherwise. These are the possibilities they offer us, at least that's how they sell it to us from Facebook:

It is a very simple way to get all the photos in which you appear and that your friends take with the phone. After any event, party, trip or meeting someone, it will be very convenient to collect all the photos to remember the moment. With Moments, you can quickly exchange photos with your friends.

They are all advantages: The application groups your photos according to who appears in them and when they were taken. With a single touch you can share them with the friends of your choice. Then your friends can add their own on the spot. Finally all of you will have the photos that you have taken together.

* Keep all your photos organized in a private place.
* Share multiple photos at once - no need to text or email individual photos.
* Look for photos in which you appear or are your friends.
* Save the photos that other people share with you on the roll of your phone.
* Share directly on Facebook or Instagram, or use Messenger if you want.

At least on paper everything is more beautiful than what they paint. I have been using Facebook Moments since the day it was launched, since it was included in the list of free hits for the App Store, and I am going to tell you about my experience with Facebook Moments throughout this almost week of use. The application occupies approximately 50MB and is available in countless languages, Facebook has done a good development job with it.

Facebook Moments, what could be and was not in Europe

moments

In the United States of America, Facebook Moments is seen as the future, it is an application that tracks and performs facial analysis, therefore, it automatically tags our friends and advises us to send them the photos as easily and quickly as possible. The truth is that on paper the theory is fantastic, and I have no doubt that in the United States of America the system works as well as they say. However, in the case of Europe, this facial analysis violated some European Union standards, so a "decaffeinated" version of Facebook Moments has reached the old continent, in which we must be the one to tag the users to whom we want to send the photographs. From my point of view, although the application is still quite useful, it loses all the charm, and it is not faster than sending the photos by WhatsApp or a shared folder in Dropbox.

The limit of the laws in the European Union has been the one who has set the limit on this technological advance. Really, if we did not have to tag our friends in the photos, the procedure would be much faster and lighter, which would make Facebook Moments a success, however, It seems that it is going to stay in what could be and was not, at least in Europe, where the application offers practically nothing, they have taken away its soul, its reason for being.
