Mophie continues to continually update its line of external batteries to take advantage of the latest market developments, and has launched your new mophie Powerstation Wireless external battery with a more compact and rounded design than the previous model, and with the inclusion of the USB-C connector for recharging.
6.040mAh of capacity in a battery smaller than your iPhone that supports 5W wireless charging as well as including a USB-A that offers up to 10W to recharge another device via cable. We have tried it and we tell you our impressions.
The new mophie external battery has a design very similar to previous models, with that black soft-touch plastic surface so characteristic of the brand. Its size is really compact, the dimensions of 69 x 128 x 17mm and the weight of 175 grams make it very easy to carry in any pocket, either from a coat, a backpack or even a pair of pants. Its capacity means that you can recharge the iPhone XS Max several times forgetting the cables at home, and if you want to go several days of travel, any usb-c will serve to recharge the base, like the cable of your MacBook, or your iPad Pro So forget about carrying cables of all kinds in your backpack.
Recharging your iPhone is done by simply touching the iPhone on the surface of the mophie external battery, although you will have to first press the small button on the side to activate it. That same press also serves to indicate the remaining charge in the external battery, thanks to the four LEDs located next to the button. This mophie Powerstation Wireless also allows you to recharge your iPad at the same time using a USB cable connected to the USB-A port. The USB-C port is only used to recharge the external battery, not to recharge another device connected to it.
You also have the option to use the external battery as a wireless charging base connected to a USB on your computer or to a wall charger. The external battery prioritizes recharging your iPhone that you can place on top as if it were a conventional wireless base, and if you ever need to take it outside, it would be ready for it. When the mophie battery is charging it does not allow the USB-A to recharge another device, only wireless charging can be used.
Editor's opinion
This molhei Powerstation Wireless external battery. Being able to use it as a conventional wireless charging base that at any given time can be disconnected and carried over to ensure that our iPhone will last for hours and hours in operation make it a very interesting accessory, since For little more than what a conventional charging base costs, we also have an external battery with a very compact size and weight that allow you to carry it without being uncomfortable. Its price is € 79,95 in Mophie (link)
