The next 1 February we can know exactly the number of iPhone X sold to date, until then everything is assumptions. Many Wall Street firms are starting to release their numbers and find themselves well below those predicted by Apple. Although they are good figures, those of Cupertino perhaps expected more from a terminal in which they have invested a lot.
CLSA analysts maintain that the fourth quarter of 2017 will be better than the first of 2018 since Those who wanted to get an iPhone X in December 2017 already have it. In truth we have been seeing how sales soared after its commercialization but with the passage of time, the demand has decreased.
Turning to a problem that shouldn't be: iPhone X sales
Last Tuesday a Taiwanese report reached our hands in which it was specified that Apple was going to cut its sales forecasts for the iPhone X in this quarter of 30 million, well below the initial plan of 50 million units. The sources of the information are unknown and on Wall Street many expected a comment from those in Cupertino but assured that they do not make evaluations of external reports.
Subsequent CLSA analyzes argue that any estimate from Q1 2018 above those 35 million units is too high, since it is expected that the terminals sold will not exceed that amount, a number that Apple did not expect when the last quarter of last year ended.
The reasons for this low demand are found in their high prices. And, as I have already commented previously, the analysts of this company assured that those users who wanted an iPhone X in the last quarter of 2017 already acquired it and therefore, those devices expected in the first quarter of this year, were stagnant in Q4 2017. In my opinion I believe that the data is what it is and the reality has to be reflected in the data that will be officially offered on February 1, but what is clear is that a possible drop in demand would make investors the data will grind due to the great expectation on the part of Apple.
No matter the doubts, Apple will make up the figures as it does lately and everyone clapping and shouting. At some point the most obvious will come to light.
