Moves, the app that tells you how much you move

Registration app

El modern lifestyle (and other factors) has progressively led to a decrease in physical activity and an increase in sedentary life, something that certain apps are focusing on correcting or at least contributing to this cause. Moves is one of the best examples, especially if you have an iPhone 5s.

How much do we move?

La Moves main feature is that it makes a count of the movements we make throughout the day, being able to recognize if we are moving on foot or if we have used some type of transport, so that it can perfectly distinguish the distance traveled, something that would not be feasible if the data were collected only by the GPS that incorporates the Apple mobile.

This is possible because Moves uses all the sensors of the iPhone, so it can detect according to the movement type if we have taken a walking step or if we are sitting on the train, to give a typical example. Then it collects all the data, processes them and shows us a timeline with the development of our movements throughout the day, being able to also obtain the following data: walking time, kilometers traveled, steps taken and calories burned.

It is especially interesting to be able to observe the chronology throughout the day to discover our habits, being able to find out the time we have invested in making a specific route or how long it takes us to walk from one point to another, all with no margin for error since we are dealing with an app that uses GPS to be as precise as possible.

Best on iPhone 5s

While Moves works on el other devices, on the iPhone 5s is where it makes a difference. This is possible thanks to the dedicated M7 coprocessor that Apple included in the last iPhone, which keeps data of our movements constantly without having a significant impact on the A7 processor and therefore on battery consumption.

The precision of the data is also top in this terminalTherefore, it is ideal to use it on this iPhone but not so ideal to use it on others due to the significant battery drain that it can cause for the functionality it gives, which is not really vital after all. As a complement it is very interesting and I think it is fantastic to know how much we move, but of course it is not an essential app for day to day.
