At the beginning of the year I published an article talking about Lockwise, the password manager of the Mozilla Foundation synchronizes passwords with the desktop version, in the same way Safari does with its password manager.
Once again, the Mozilla Foundation is making moves that do nothing but harm users. The last one is related to Lockwise. The company has announced As of December 13, it will no longer support the Lockwise password manager, that is to say that it will no longer be updated, as we can read in the mail that we have received from registered Firefox users.
If you regularly use the application, there is no problem because it will continue to work without problems. However, if you delete it from your device, you will not be able to download it again since it will be removed from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
Firefox Lockwise was announced in 2018 as part of the Mozilla experimental program to test new features before deciding whether to integrate into Firefox. Since then, Mozilla has implemented most of the Lockwise features in Firefox.
How to check passwords in Firefox
If you want to check the passwords stored in Firefox from your mobile device, you can do so through the browser options and clicking on passwords. The application allows us to add new passwords in addition to applying filters to find the password we are looking for at all times.
The process is quite fast, but it is an additional step to the one that was offered before through the Lockwise application. The only negative point is that we will not be able to use it natively on iOS as a password manager as if we could do with Lockwise.
In that same statement at the bottom they add that in a future update of the browser they will integrate the password manager into the system
