This is the new iPadOS Multitasking

iPadOS is going to mean an important change in the iPad, which is finally differentiating its operating system by separating itself from iOS, which remains for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. The one that is not called iOS 13 and instead Apple has decided that it is called iPadOS is not just a whim, and the new multitasking that we have in compatible iPads is proof of this.

Important changes in Slide Over, Split View, on how applications are handled, different desktops with split screens, elements that you can take from one window to another… there are many changes and we want to show them in this video.

This is not a seemingly radical change from what we had in previous versions. The functions are still called the same: Slide Over for that floating window that we can adjust to the right or left of the screen: Split View when we divide the screen in two and view two applications simultaneously. But within these functions the changes are very large. Now we can stack applications in Split View, quickly switch between them, and see all the ones we have open.

Now we can open two windows of any compatible application and view them in Split View, and when we want to see all the open windows of the same application we can press and hold on its icon, like the Exposé that Mac users are used to. Passing elements between windows is easier, even the system will detect the content of what we have selected and if we drag it to the side it will open the corresponding application (Safari if it is a link, Mail if it is an email address, etc). We can even open a window by dragging from a notification. You can see all this and more in the video of the article, and take advantage of your iPad now that it is more productive than ever.
