Music for iOS has improved remarkably within weeks of its launch

The presentation of the iPhone 7 is expected to be the moment chosen to launch Apple's new operating system, as has happened on many other occasions. From the hand of iOS 10 come important news to the iOS Music application, and that is that the department in charge of this application has admitted the development errors that it has dragged on since the arrival of Apple Music at the end of June of last year. As we are always alert, we have been using iOS 10 Music for a few days so we can tell you what our impressions are. The truth is that Apple has done the job it should with the application, regardless of the design sections, it never rains to everyone's liking. We look at Music for iOS 10, what's to come.

The reality is that this new music application for iOS is leaving us with a good taste in our mouths. Apple had not only unnecessarily complicated the application, but also had problems that were unthinkable for iOS users, poor performance and excessive load times in a native application. Let's take a look at the new Music app in iOS 10, our impressions may make you decide between Apple Music or Spotify.

Renovated, easy and intuitive design, Apple brand

Apple Music

The application was literally crying out for it, it needed some design changes to make it more useful. In fact, one of the main reasons why users ended up opting for Spotify despite having tried Apple Music for free was precisely the user interface. Apple Music presented a user interface in which we not only found little information in each section, but also it was necessary to navigate a lot between different menus to achieve a reproduction that after all was the same as always.

On the other hand, the player has practically maintained the same aesthetic, despite the fact that many criticized the style in which it was displayed. Now that iOS 10 shows a new tab for the Control Center dedicated only to multimedia consumption (and obviously adapted to Apple Music), everything looks much lighter. It is comfortable, we cannot deny it. However, the increase in the font and the perhaps exaggerated size of the covers may not convince all users, however, it is true that now the image prevails when browsing, the texts are short but large, which facilitates your reading. Personally, I use the player in the car, and Spotify, thanks to its user interface, allowed me to change songs and playlists quickly while driving (with the device anchored by a bracket, of course).

IOS Music has borrowed this initiative from large letters and magnified image content, so we can identify our favorite list more quickly, we forget the texts, we navigate between "icons" and the icons are the covers of our albums or lists. It's that simple, the most humane attitude.

Not everything is image, a renewed performance

Regardless of the previous and current user interface, which may or may not be liked, we also find the biggest complaint. The application IOS Music suffered a brutal performance decline with the arrival of Apple Music, even if we deactivated the option. The loading times were unnecessarily lengthening, causing the despair of many users, not to mention that your music and Apple Music ended up being integrated in a way that you did not know if you were using your data rate or not. This really doesn't happen anymore, however, they have kept the "Connect" function despite being a real failure.

The iTunes version has not suffered the same fate, which despite having slightly changed the design still seems excessively archaic and the loading times are unnecessarily long. That the versions we have tested are not totally definitive is evident, however, iOS 10 and its Music application leaves us with a very good taste in the mouthregardless of whether we use it with Apple's streaming music service or not.

I used Apple Music for a year and everything was fantastic, yes sometimes it took time to load the songs but nothing out of the ordinary. What definitely made me decide on Spotify was that one time I had to change my "Apple ID" account and so without prior notice all my music, my playlists, my offline music "disappeared", everything was gone. I thought that by putting my previous account, the problem would be solved but, surprise! There was nothing there anymore. All the work of a year just disappeared. I think Apple should work out that detail before enlarging its buttons and titles.

I always use the Native application of the iPhone or iPod to listen to music that I have downloaded on my device, and the truth is that the update has been horrible. Now the discs are sorted alphabetically and not by year (as I used to), and artists who do not have photography in Apple Music, appear with an icon of a microphone by default for all, which makes navigation through the tab horrible. "Artists." From this it is that I have considered not updating to iOS 10 when necessary and probably moving away from buying a new iPhone or iPod, since my main reason for buying them was the music application that has been dedicated to disappointing me with this new update .
