MyIdol, the Chinese app that is sweeping the world

iPhone

If China is famous for something, it is for plagiarizing or copying products -especially from Apple-, but in this case the Chinese country is the one that has managed to put an app entirely in Chinese on the top of applications ... outside of China. The rankings of many countries count MyIdol as an exceptional guest despite not even having an English translation. Why?

A question of quality

MyIdol is a three-dimensional avatar generator that uses the iPhone's camera to scan our face and generate a virtual doll. It is not the first app to do this, but the reality is that MyIdol gets a Level of detail and astonishingly good performance, and it is for that reason that has catapulted the app into the rankings brutally.

As we have already mentioned, the application is completely in Chinese, so in the end the use of it is more or less blind, although with time we will learn where each option is located. It should be noted that many parts of the app are marked with icons or graphics, which helps a lot to be able to make modifications to the avatar or move around the application.

How to use

If the app were in Spanish or English even a child could use it without problems, but being in Chinese you have to know a little where we are moving. The first thing we have to do in MyIdol It is a photograph of our face, being able to choose between the rear camera - higher quality but more complicated to take - or the front one. Afterwards, the app will scan our face and create the avatar (you may have to adjust some points), which we can modify in various aspects such as hair, face size or skin tone.

With the avatar created and dressed among a variety of garments and accessories, the next step is to click on the button on the top right to go to a part where we will choose between various actions related to the mood of our avatar, being the step prior to the star function of the app.

The good things and what has made the application famous are the avatar dances. By clicking on the video icon we will have a multitude of songs and dances to choose from in a list with horizontal scrolling that also has an illustration for each song, so it will not be so difficult to choose the one we are looking for. Also, some titles are (miracle) in their original language.

The application is totally free and surprisingly takes up little for everything it contains, so you don't lose anything by taking a look at it and creating your avatar. Of course, the battery devours it, you are warned.

It's very good, the best thing about it is that you can save the videos and photos directly on the iPhone, another option you can change the backgrounds, you really don't need to know Chinese to use it.
