New message can block any iPhone with iOS 10

Personally, I have never liked publishing news or information that could compromise security or cause problems in our electronic devices but, considering that the information is already circulating on the Internet, what we achieve by disseminating it is that Apple addresses the problem sooner. With this explained, a new way to block iMessage from any iPhone with iOS 10 by sending it a message with an attachment that the victim must execute manually so that he can do his thing.

It is not the first time that a similar failure has been discovered that can cause problems when receiving a message through the official Apple application. In this case, it seems that Any iPhone that has any version of iOS 10 installed is vulnerable to this problem, including the latest beta of iOS 10.2.1. When one of these iPhone receives a specific attachment by Messages and we try to open it, Messages will freeze and we will not be able to interact with the application, as long as the attachment has malicious code.

There is a new message in circulation that can block our iPhone

Once the attached file is executed, we can open multitasking and force close the Messages application, but if we try to reopen the application, the only thing we will see will be a blank screen. Forcing a restart does not solve the problem, being the only reliable solution restore the device. Logically, once restored we should not touch that attachment again, since it may appear if we have the messages stored in iCloud.

As prevention is better than cure, the best we can do is do not open any attachment that we receive through Messages from someone we do not know, something that would also be a good idea to apply in any other messaging application. We can always receive this type of message from an acquaintance, in which case we will have to ask him where is the grace of the joke he just made us.

As I said at the beginning of this post, my intention when publishing this news is, on the one hand, that you all know what can happen if we receive a message of this type and, on the other, that Apple takes for granted and solves the fault as much as possible soon as posible. Let's hope they do so for the official release of iOS 10.2.1.

An SMS was automatically sent to the Messages application of the affected phone and the problem was corrected, copy and paste the link in the phone's browser, I hope and it works because I have not tried the truth, greetings!
