Many are the rumors that are continually related to AirPods, devices that since they were launched on the market in 2017, have been the subject of special attention from users and analysts. While we wait for the next generation AirPods expected to hit the market later this year, today we talk about future models.
According to DigiTimes, Apple is studying the possibility of integrating an ambient light sensor in the next generations of AirPods, an ambient light sensor that would be aimed at monitoring the health of users.
As we can read in this publication:
Apple is expected to incorporate ambient light sensors into the next generation of AirPods devices in the next 1-2 years, and Taiwan's ASE Technology could handle the backend process for the new component.
The medium does not specify what would be the function that these ambient light sensors would provide, but in another article published later in the same medium, it states that they would be used to perform biometric measurements.
ASE Technology will carry out a special manufacturing process for True Wireless equipment that will allow AirPods to monitor heart rate, count steps, detect head movements and even incorporate an intelligent translation system.
Some of these functions already we could find them in the headphones that the manufacturer Bragi launched on the market a couple of years ago, headphones for athletes that offered us a large number of benefits but unfortunately they were not as successful as they would have liked in the market.
Although DigiTimes usually provide reliable information, tends to fail to interpret the information it obtains and on various occasions, it is not able to correctly decipher Apple's future plans based on the information it has access to.
