Now Amazon Echo receives any audio content as AirPlay

We have been testing the Amazon Echo for some time, given its foreseeable arrival in Spain in the coming months. In the same way, we observe that it is practically a product «in diapers» even if we refer to its version in Spanish. However, if we take into account our unsuccessful experience with Google Home Mini, we are clear that the Amazon version is much more successful in terms of capabilities and compatibility with devices from the Cupertino company. The novelty now is that we can play practically any content on our Amazon Echo quickly as if it were AirPlay thanks to Alexa Cast.

For now Alexa Cast is somewhat limited, for example, it only works with Amazon Music, if we want music for example from Apple Music we will limit ourselves to the classic Bluetooth system. Amazon will probably expand this functionality to allow almost any content, something similar to what Google Cast offers today. This Alexa Cast icon is already featured in the Amazon Music application for iOS and Android, and will soon be imagining for Amazon Prime Video content as well. However, this is not the only new capability that has been announced for Amazon Alexa.

The other novelty is the Echo Spacial Perception, that is, If we have more than one Amazon Echo at home, we will not have problems when interacting, such as two turning on at the same time. Now it will try through algorithms to take into account which of them is to which we are talking. Little by little the Amazon Echo is improving, but users not attached to the Alexa beta are still far from being able to use the Amazon Echo in Spanish and we have to limit ourselves to its characteristics in English. We will remain attentive to the news of the Jeff Bezos signature at the level of virtual assistants.
