Several days ago there was a piece of news that in my opinion is important, but that perhaps I did not publish due to the disappointment it caused me. The news is that It is now available for all users with an Apple ID the new version of the Photos web app en iCloud.com. The new design reminds us a lot of the Photos application that we have available in macOS, but I think it fails in things that would be very important to me.
The new version of Photos in iCloud was in the testing phase since the beginning of December, but it was not until last December 22 that Apple "hit the button" for the new image to appear to all users. Until then, iCloud Photos only showed a tab bar at the top of the page, so we could say that the new version is much easier to use because it is much more intuitive than the previous version.
The new version of Photos on iCloud.com doesn't include shared albums
Although it is true that the new image is a step forward, I personally believe that he still has a lot to improve. Among the functions that we have available in the macOS and iOS versions we have shared albums or photos in streaming, two very useful options that we would like to see in the web version of this application for users who do not have the iCloud Photo Library activated. On the other hand, we can also miss other functions, such as image editing, memories or the option that creates albums from photos where the same protagonist appears.
In any case, the image above shows that the update is important, at least for those users who have activated the ICloud Photo Library. For my part, I hope Apple will add more features to Photos on iCloud.com in the near future.
