One of the two AirPods not working? Take it easy, it has a solution

Airpods with case

Has it ever happened to you that you have put on your AirPods and one of them has no sound? The first thing we have done (and I include myself) is to remove it, look at it to see if it has wax on the grid, tap it (as if that would help), put it back in the ear, and realize that it still does not work.

The first thing you think is that it has run out of battery. If you always use both at the same time, it is impossible for only one to run out of charge. The next thing that comes to mind is that the audio application you have put in fails. You change the song, and nothing. You close the application, try another one, and it keeps crashing. A chill runs down your back .. but don't worry, there is usually a solution….

Not that it is very frequent, but it does happen. Even with the new Airpods Pro. I always use them when I go to the gym, and at home eventually. Maybe in a year it has happened to me three or four times. But don't be nervous if it happened to you. There are several ways to fix it.

Possible causes

There is no clear explanation why it occurs, nor should it be any flaw in the design of the Airpods, since it also happens in the new Airpods Pro. Possibly the problem is caused by Bluetooth technology. A wireless connection, no matter how stable, has its risks. It usually happens when you change devices, if for example the last time you used them was on your iPhone, and the next on your Mac.

Fast solutions

The first solution: Take off both AirPods to pause the audio, then put them back on. Sometimes this nonsense fixes the problem.

The second: If you see that it continues without being heard, calm down. You take them off, put them in their case for 30 seconds, and try again. The bitch comes when you've gone out for a run and you no longer have his box on you, but hey.

If you try these two things and it keeps crashing, don't worry, there is still a fix.

AirPods battery

The definitive solution

The last test. If it fails when connected to a Mac, Apple TV, or a non-Apple Bluetooth device, pair them back to their initial iOS device (iPhone or iPad). This will make the last connected wireless gadget forget about the Airpods, everything goes back to its initial settings.

To do this, check that both AirPods are charged, and that the green led turns on when they are stored in their box. If you've only used one of the two before, obviously, it could be that it was dry on the battery, and we would be doing the cinnamon.

Close the lid, place the iPhone next to it, and open it again. On the screen you will see the battery level of the case and the average of the two AirPods together. If you take one out and repeat the operation, the level shown is the one that rests on the base. So you can know what load each one has.

So if the previous solutions failed you and really the two AirPods have charge, already the only thing left to try is to reboot a new pairing like the first day you wore them.

On your iPhone, go to settings, Bluetooth. Find your AirPods at connected devices, and tap the information symbol to the right of "AirPods." Touch and confirm in forget device.

Once this is done, return the AirPods to their case, and close the lid. Leave them like this for 30 seconds. Open it again, and without taking out the AirPods, press the back button of the box for a few seconds, until the led on the case starts to flash green and white. Just follow the instructions on the iPhone, and just reconfigured the AirPods as new.

If after all this it continues to fail, then you have no more tests to do. They are spoiled. I'm sorry. It is time to go to the nearest Apple Store.
