Open Coronavirus proposes a way to fight ECOVID-19

When it seems that the famous “spike” of coronavirus infections is near, this is the moment when many are considering what to do next to finally end the pandemic, and "Open Coronavirus" offers us an alternative based on the successful model of South Korea.

Once the period of general confinement that now has us all at home is over, it is the turn to establish what to do to be able to continue with the fight against the coronavirus while the population is progressively recovering its normal activity. Knowing the main sources of infection and minimizing the general quarantine is what Open Coronavirus raises us, following the Korean model that is so much talked about these days. Based on the massive performance of COVID-19 detection tests and geolocation control we could achieve this, and for this this project consists of three different modules:

  • Citizen App: mobile application for citizen collaboration to control the spread. From the application, a diagnostic test is requested and its results are seen, the movements of the citizen are controlled to control possible infections and locate the main sources of infection. It will offer us a QR code that will identify the user.
  • Data control software: intended for the health and epidemiological control authorities to consult and detect the movements of COVID-19. You can see the sources of contagion, compliance with quarantine, etc.
  • Authorities App: mobile application for authorities that can read the QR of citizens as well as control their mobility.

As a summary we can say that only those people with a "green" QR (virus-free) could circulate freely and resume their normal activity, while those with a yellow or red QR, possible sources of contagion, should continue to maintain quarantine measures. For it the user should have taken the test and also give permission to the application to track our movements using GPS. Users could even be warned of possible sources of contagion to avoid them, and in the event of contagion from someone, the application could allow them to locate their most recent contacts.

It is not an application that is going to be published in the App Store, because a project like this needs the support of the country's government in order to launch. What has been done is make a 100% functional project available to the government that will have to be modified and adapted to comply with current legislation, and which in a very ambitious but perfectly achievable way aims to offer a solution to the health crisis that the coronavirus is causing in Spain and the rest of the world. Anyone who wants more information about it can go to the project on GitHub (link)

Let's see who will want and allow the government to control their movements with an app, to fine them if they skip the quarantine. This is not going to want to use anyone.
