Orange publishes the prices to acquire the iPhone 4 8GB

Orange has already published on its website its prices to acquire an iPhone 4 that is close to absurd incoherent. First it was Movistar who announced its rates and now it is Orange who confirms that the 4GB iPhone 8 is no longer Apple's most affordable model to become the most abusive.

The starting price is 29 euros (amount that is reduced to 0 euros if you buy it online), yes, this will be associated with a 24-month permanence contract (of which, for 18 months you will have to be paying 59 euros per month). As we reduce the monthly price of the fee, the price of the terminal increases exponentially.

We are going to see gentlemen from Orange and other companies ... how is it possible that I acquired my iPhone 4 on launch day (July 31 of last year), for less money than what you are asking now for the same rate (dolphin 32) and with 6 months less of permanence? Above, with 8GB less capacity.

The worst of all this is that seeing the prices of the iPhone 4 with 8GB, we can imagine how the 4S will be now that they have seen their sales during their first three days.

Although it hurts in the pocket, the best option today is still to buy the free terminal and go to an MVNO. I said, if you want an affordable iPhone do not fall for the deception of the operators, sit in front of the calculator and see what the iPhone really comes out for you by hiring one of these abusive contracts.

In March of this year, operators greatly increased the price of the iPhone. It can be seen in examples such as your own nacho, that you bought the Iphone for a price much lower than the current one, and the same example as mine (I pay € 19 from the internet and it cost € 50, that if in business). what happened this? The iPhone was practically given away at that time, everyone had an iPhone 4 and it had cost them practically nothing ... The companies realized that this phone was worth much more and decided to increase the price to luxury mobile levels ... Today in day, buying an iPhone for high, portability or points is practically not worth it except in extreme cases (such as having many lines, many points ...)
Better to buy it free, and you make sure not to spend even € 10 / month with Omv ...

this same I published in a post a few days ago.
With a delfin 40 rate, I had to pay € 200 that so that I did not change company ...

Well here in Guatemala we are regular. The truth is that I managed to hire 24 months 6 months ago haha I have 18 to go. And the truth is if I do the conversion because I think it's not bad. I pay by making the conversion as € 32 per month. And they give me 24,000 seconds. And 200 messages and unlimited internet. Taking into account that Guatemala is a small country. That is if I had to pay € 60 for the 16gig one. And it is the smallest plan. The company is Tigo

I find it totally unfortunate, and I think it is time to take a stand. I do not go into whether the iPhone is more or less good than its competitors, but the abusive policy that companies are taking in times of crisis due to the existential fashion in Apple products is unprecedented. It is IMPOSSIBLE that a terminal with lower features than its predecessor (iphone 4 8gb – iphone 4 16gb) and after more than a year, the prices are higher. JUST NO.

    regards

WHAT A SCAM, and I say it in capital letters because it deserves it.

It is not normal that an 8 GB terminal is worth that pasture. It is worth even more than its 16GB version when it was marketed.

Every day I am more clear that I am going to buy free terminals and switch to an MVNO.

Luckily, on October 27 my stay with Orange is over and I can go. Pepehone and a free iPhone 4S await me.

It is assumed that the more demand the lower the price of the article, that little shame for these telephone companies

If I have understood you correctly… don't take it the wrong way, but if you don't know anything about economics at all, better don't say anything… the higher the demand, the higher the price of everything in life… it's just the other way around male!

Well, those of us who want to wait for the next iPhone 5 (or whatever it is called), we can get ready ...

    1.    maxcax said

Well, there are about 8 months left for the iphone 5, saving 50 euro / month 400euro - 625 = 225 you have iphone 5 🙂 .. and we get rid of the big companies, and we can opt for OMV.

Little THIEVES that take advantage of all of us who end up being sheep of their tyranny. If we all went to the "dark side" we would see what those rates would lower, but of course, the goose that lays the golden eggs must continue to be squeezed.

You can always make a portability threat, a year ago I got the iPhone 4 16 GB at 0 euros and minimum consumption of 6 + 15, that if with 18 months of permanence, but I think I did not do a bad deal

  11.   Alvaro said

No, precisely the higher the demand, the higher that price will be. That is why they are allowing themselves the luxury of putting whatever price they want, even if it doesn't make sense and it is even more than a year ago.

This is amazing ... Instead of setting "gift" prices so that people who do not have an Iphone 4 sign up and get a 24-month stay ... they go and set an ABUSIVE price for 8Gb when it is going to be released in a few days on 4S and in less than a year on 5… I can't believe it… how strong… regarding the rates, I don't agree with you… there will be a lot of people (I suppose that especially young people between 15 and 25 years old who live with their parents) who do not make regular calls or who do not want internet on their mobile ... for example Pepephone hiring internet has rates of 3,42ctms per minute of calls with 17,7ctms of establishment and € 8,14 for 500MB of internet connection ... In Orange for example there was a rate of € 50 per month with 600 minutes of calls and 500Mb and the Iphone4 at € 100 (€ 4,2 more per month if we divide it between 24 months of permanence) ... In pepephone if you make 6 calls a day of 10 total minutes (I make more calls and fewer minutes) you get 600 minutes perend of the month at € 52.38 and € 60,52 adding the internet rate (mandatory if you want calls at 3,42ctms) ... you also had to buy the Iphone 4 for € 600 if you wanted it free (€ 25 more per month if we divide between 24 months)… so I don't see the advantage of buying it free

  13.   Nacho said

I think I'm going to get the 4S free and switch to pepephone. Nowadays, to switch to vodafone they ask me for € 199 and € 40 + VAT per month and only for the normal 4 of 16 gb (24 months).

THERE IS A TRICK, you sign up for an 18-month contract with the highest rate, one month you unsubscribe, you pay that bill, about 80 e. and the fine for unsubscribing, about 300 e. my iPhone cost me LESS THAN 400 e. 32 gb !!!

    1.    hubb3r said

And do they release your mobile by paying the fine?

      1.    edgar said

Hubb3r That is not free anymore, not everything can be perfect xD for that you register in the company that you are going to use

    2.    Alberto said

Because everyone would do that then ...

      1.    edgar said

Alberto cost me that the fine of the iPhone 4 last year!

Well, yes ... perhaps a comparison of how MVNOs are at the moment would not hurt, right? National coverage, quality of the internet they offer… recently I've been looking to do portability, and Simyo is sooo affordable, but I don't know if it's a very stable company…
    As you see?

ALL for the free iPhone, here in Mexico I have no idea how much the mentions of TELHELL and company will ask, the problem that the free one here is still worth the same as the one of 16 1 month ago, which there in Spain is already down, but Yes, they are HOLY SCAMMERS and seeing that the prices where it already came out simply did not change, do the operators really believe that they are some, sorry, IDIOTS? I do not include myself because I will never enter the plan and seeing this much LESS, if it is fulfilled I would say that it verifies that yes, Apple sells millions, but of those 20 to say, 15 are in the USA, luckily I can move through the black market, the real xDDDD

  17.   Juan said

Hallucinate !!!! and above the 8 GB !!!! I asked for it in his day with vodafone with the rate @my 18 months of permanence and the truth that I am very happy, now that when the next iPhone model comes out I will ask for it free and I continue with the rate that I am or I will go to yoigo any of those.

  18.   joan16v said

I split. they ask for 349 euros with the Delfin 20 !! But if with the "normal" 4GB iPhone16 they asked for 379 !! Only 30 euros cheaper ¿? ¿? How they freak out !! They should be 279 euros, since the 4S output has lowered the 100 free (4GB) by 8 euros.

  19.   Tony said

How they abuse. I have the iPhone 4 16gb from Orange 13 months ago.
It came out for € 89- € 60 discount on bills. And they only forced me to the minimum internet rate for 18 months.
I think I'll hold it until it bursts.

In Colombia I bought the 4g iPhone 16 for approx € 112 with a € 60 plan that includes 800 min all destinations and 100sms with a 24-month stay in comcel

Even the iPhone 4 of 8 GB is a robbery I thought it would be cheaper and surprise it is just as expensive as a 16 GB one when I buy it and now they have removed the 13 and 32 so that they go for the 4S if they want make a lot richer, it hurts because if we don't we will emigrate to Samsung that carries the same line of them

  22.   Edgar said

Hopefully there is a price war and "vomit" I get it more affordable because anyway I don't even know if I get it free ... I switch to android !!!

On the basis that it is certainly an armed robbery. I would never buy a phone of this type for its new high or portability. These phones are bought (always talking if you are going to be with one of the large operators), by threat. For me, my iPhone 4 32Gb came out for 160 Euros maintaining my rate, which at that time was the Panda 26 (Orange), and adding the Internet bonus (as I think it is also logical). That is to say, in my particular case the play came out, in my opinion, more than good.

11 years in Airtel / Vodafone ... last year I spend 80 € / month on average ... previous years I was around 150 € / month ... I switched to Orange because it was cheaper and it included internet, I did not want to threaten ... even so they called me from Vodafone 2 times ... the first they offered me the Iphone 4 16gb at 399 ... the second at 259 ... I'm still freaking out and crying at the same time

      1.    apoc said

Well, like you, but with the 32 gigabyte it cost € 440, yes or yes, and the one I had to call to "confirm" that great "offer" was me, because I didn't believe it. Now in orange, paying the corresponding rate and a 24-month stay. Of course, as soon as the stay is over to look for life in another company again.

        1.    Sergio said

Well, of course ... I have less than a year of permanence in Orange ... I have to say that I am happy with my current rate, but as soon as the Iphone5 comes out I change company (Unless Orange offers it to me at the same price as the competition)

  25.   mriejos said

Alvaro, you are right. Zed no.

The Law of Supply and Demand is the more demand for a product, the more its price rises, analyze it, that's the way it is.

Another different thing is the production costs, the higher the quantity, the lower the cost per unit.

  26.   eleutherioe said

    And if that was not enough;
In Orange, if you catch any mobile they give you 20% discount for 6 months but if you decide on the iphone, this discount disappears.
As if we don't pay enough for the phone already.

    We have to do something.

    1.    eleutherioe said

After a simple calculation, if you decide to hire delfin 59 with a free iphone for 18 months, it will come out the same as if you buy the new free iphone yourself and also wear a dolphin 40 for 18 months.
We are going to fuck you up (with forgiveness).

  27.   shocker said

This from the big telephone companies is a robbery, I have a little more than a month left to fulfill my 24-month stay with movistar (iphone 3gs 32gb) and I have totally decided to go to yoigo and maybe wait for the next iphone to come out, or not, and catch it free. I think you look at it as you look at it, it is cheaper for you to buy it free and change whenever you feel like company, without ties of any kind.

  28.   Adrian said

I bought the 4 GB iPhone 16 with Orange in July or August of last year, in a physical store, the day after the launch (in Talavera) for € 319, with the lowest rate, Delfín 20 (about 23'40 € approx. Per month) and yesterday I was surprised that this was more expensive with the Delfin 32: O rate. Rare is the month that I spend € 24 so the iPhone 4 in my 18-month stay will cost me about € 750 (final balance with consumption included). Obviously when the stay is over in 2-3 months it is better that they "bribe" me to stay, but if not I will go to Simyo or Pepephone and release the mobile for € 20-50.

I no longer peak in the 4S because it is more of the same and it would be to tie me to a company again. And for those of you who say that it is cheaper for free, IT DEPENDS… NEITHER IF NOR NO, In my case, in 18 months, I have only spent € 751 on telephone and calls. The free iPhone is worth € 599 (mine) and calling 18 months with the cheapest rate that gives you the same or similar benefits (300 minutes at € 0 and 200 Mb at max. Speed) would have to get out for € 8,3 at month so that it would be cheaper than having bought it linked to Orange (I don't think any company offers that, not even OMVs). It is looking for and also seeing what consumption you need, studying everything and evaluating.

PS: Orange is a chestnut like Movistar and Vodafone, I've just been lucky this time with Orange, but as soon as I can, I'll change ...

    1.    Nacho said

You don't have to unlock your iPhone for 20-50 euros. The same orange releases it to you right now for 5 euros if you call customer service. All the best

      1.    eleutherioe said

€ 9, when before it was free because you have the right to have it released ...

    2.    George said

As far as I know, once the stay is over, IT HAS AN OBLIGATION to give you the release code if you request it. But I insist: FINISHED THE PERMANENCE
