Apple increases orders for components and parts for iPhone 7

Apple has increased orders for parts and components needed for the production of the next iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, according to sources in the supply chain in Taiwan.

A 10 percent increase in order volume for parts and components suggests that Apple is increasingly optimistic about the demand for new devices among existing users of the Cupertino smartphone, all this despite relatively modest interest in new iPhone models compared to previous years' pre-releases.

Another potential factor in the rise in Apple's orders is Samsung's global recall of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone last week, after numerous complaints that the device catches fire while charging. The news arguably couldn't have come at a worse time for Apple's biggest rival, which had launched its Note 7 as a direct competitor to the 5,5-inch iPhone.

Samsung has already voluntarily recalled its flagship device from 10 countries, including South Korea, while Amazon and Best Buy have also said they are not selling the Samsung device., and now Consumer Reports has called for an official recall, which would make it illegal to sell the phones in the United States.

Samsung has told customers that it will take at least 14 days to replace their phonesWith several mobile carriers like T-Mobile offering full rebates, buyers should be aware that this is the same week that the new iPhones are expected to be announced, and Apple's offer may be too tempting.

Much depends on how quickly Apple can fulfill pre-orders for its new terminals. While the company typically releases an iPhone about two weeks after its introduction, AT & T's scheduling information indicates that the iPhone 7 could arrive on September 23.

Despite orders from Apple, some vendors reportedly remain concerned that the lift could be short-lived as order volume for new parts and components could drift in Q4, the sources said.
