Philips renews the Hue range during IFA 2019

Philips has positioned itself as one of the best brands in terms of smart lighting, especially when it comes to HomeKit compatibility. Little by little it is improving and enlarging its catalog in order to face the competition that is pressing ever stronger. As you well know, one of the most important international consumer electronics fairs of the year is being held in Berlin, we are talking about IFA. During this event Philips has decided to renew its range of intelligent lighting products with a series of interesting products, let's take a look at all their news.

The first thing that Philips adds to is the fashion of the bulbs with LED filaments in the purest Edison style. These bulbs come to satisfy the needs of the most alternative, and it is that these bulbs are very fashionable. It is clear that they are not real Edison type bulbs, but that they simulate it by means of some filaments but in reality these are LEDs. These bulbs will cost between 25 and 35 euros depending on its characteristics, in line with common Hue products. In this case we can only opt for warm lighting and not adjustable in color but in intensity.

It is not the only novelty, Philips has also launched the Smart Button, a small button that we can place wherever we want and will allow us to turn the bulbs on and off, and even regulate its intensity by leaving the button pressed, an interesting alternative to the bulky switch that there is now. This little button will cost around 20 euros, it will cost more than the usual 16 euros of the current switch, which will continue to be on sale.

Finally we will also see new products that will not be on sale soon but that have already been announced, as well as the upgrade of the current range of GU10 bulbs with Bluetooth, as well as the «candle» bulbs, that will improve in terms of light power and consumption:

  • New drinking lamp Philips Hue Go for 79,99 euros compatible with Google Assistant, Alexa and HomeKit.
  • New SmartPlug, a classic smart plug, without any special feature, for 19,99 euros.
